I’m selling my Vito soprano sax and it’s in absolutely mint condition. This thing has literally only been played a handful of times since I got it, so it still looks and feels like it just rolled out of the factory. The finish is flawless with zero scratches, dents, or lacquer wear, the keys are super crisp and tight, and the whole horn is just tight and responsive all around.
I had a professional woodwind technician give it a full once-over recently. He adjusted, regulated, and tuned everything up perfectly, so it plays dead in tune across the entire range right now with no leaks, no sticky pads, nothing. It’s completely ready to go straight out of the case for gigs, practice, or whatever you need.
The coolest part about these Vitos is that they’re essentially a Yamaha clone. Back when these were made, Vito had a really close manufacturing relationship with Yamaha in Japan, and a ton of them (including the sopranos) were built on the same production lines, using the exact same designs, tooling, and quality standards as Yamaha’s own student and intermediate horns. You’re basically getting the same warm, rich, focused tone, spot-on intonation, and rock-solid reliability that Yamaha sopranos are famous for, just under the Vito name instead. It’s that classic Japanese build quality that plays like a much more expensive horn, but without the premium price tag that usually comes with the Yamaha branding. These things punch way above their weight and are a favorite among doublers and players who want pro-level performance on a budget.
It’s honestly a rare find to get one this clean and well-maintained. If you’re looking for a soprano that feels brand new and plays like a Yamaha, this is it. Feel free to ask any questions!
