Bundy Resonite (Pre–Bundy II) Clarinet – 15.2mm Large Bore, Fully Repadded, Ready to Play
Overview / Opening
This Selmer USA Bundy “Resonite” clarinet (pre–Bundy II, 1400-series lineage) has been fully serviced and is in excellent playing condition. Featuring a larger 15.2 mm (0.598") bore and durable composite body, this instrument offers a more open, free-blowing response than many later student clarinets and is adjusted and ready to play.
Produced in the late 1960s to early–mid 1970s, this earlier Bundy design reflects a more open American bore concept, giving it strong low register presence and solid projection. This example stands out due to its full repad and clean body condition.
Body & Condition
Constructed from Selmer USA’s “Resonite” composite (ABS-type thermoplastic), designed for durability, crack resistance, and stability in varying humidity conditions. The body is in like-new condition with minimal scratches or blemishes.
Bore measures 15.2 mm (0.598"), which is large for a student clarinet and contributes to a more open airflow and reduced resistance. Barrel length is 67 mm.
Standard Boehm system design with straightforward construction typical of the Bundy 1400-series, without polycylindrical bore features.

Additional Notes
This earlier “Resonite” Bundy represents the original pre–Bundy II design, often associated with slightly larger bores and a more open playing feel compared to later standardized models.
The 15.2 mm (0.598") bore places this instrument on the larger end of the student clarinet spectrum, contributing to stronger chalumeau and throat tone response with a more free-blowing character.
While often categorized as an entry-level instrument, examples in this condition and setup can perform beyond typical expectations, particularly for beginners seeking a responsive and durable instrument.
