I'm selling my Yamaha YFL-200AD flute, and I'm really happy with how well it's held up. This is from Yamaha's Advantage series, which is basically the same as their popular YFL-221 and YFL-222 models. It's a silver-plated nickel silver flute with covered keys, an offset G key, and a C footjoint. Everything about it is designed to make playing comfortable and enjoyable, especially for students or anyone who wants something reliable.
Overall, the flute is in excellent condition and totally ready to play right out of the case. It sounds incredible — it has a warm, rich tone with great response and projection. The intonation is spot-on from low to high, so you can play in tune without any struggle. I've taken good care of it, and aside from the normal cosmetic wear you’d expect on a well-used instrument (some light scratches, scuffs, and just a couple of very tiny, insignificant dings), it looks and plays beautifully.
The pads are in great shape overall and have been professionally leveled, so they seal nicely and give you that clean, quick response. The key mechanism feels smooth and quiet, with good alignment throughout. It comes with the original cleaning rod as well.
Yamaha student flutes like this one are famous for their durability and consistent quality. This particular flute has been a solid performer and would be perfect for a beginning or intermediate player, a band student, a doubler, or anyone looking for a dependable silver-plated flute that sounds great without spending a fortune on an intermediate model. It’s the kind of instrument you can grow with for a long time.
