Right-handed Martin D-28 "S" Dreadnought with one-piece mahogany 20-fret neck, solid headstock with Grover nickel tuning pegs. Aged lacquer finish over Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides. Ebony fingerboard with dot inlays and matching ebony bridge. Among the first 1970s āSā models, this D-28 continues the Martin tradition of superior instruments developed in the 1950s and 1960s which today are increasingly scarce.
A certified Martin luthier replaced the original pickguard, repaired a headstock crack, and reglued the bridge; worn frets have been replaced over time; guitar has been properly stored. Soundboard shows typical pick wear and some surface dings. Has a vintage Barcus Berry pickup mounted internally under the bridge, connectable via the strap peg using a standard TS Male 1/4 instrument cable.
Martin-certified luthiers have inspected and maintained this guitar; they recommend set up with light-gauge strings. Includes original black molded plywood, maroon plush-lined hard case (exterior shows typical road wear) with four closure clips; has newer replacement carrying handle.
