Here it is, the Tube Screamer version that John Mayer has been using these many years. I found it in a box with other pedals I had forgotten about, sitting way up on a closet shelf for about 20 years. I'm sure I had no idea of any connection to John when I bought it, but it is a nice sounding Tube Screamer and in excellent shape.
I have compared it to a good TS808 and TS9. I can only say it is closer to the 808 and has a slightly nicer curve and perhaps a little more body or 'meat' to it, so I can see why Mayer would like his.
Played very sparingly, stored in a safe, dry closet for decades, it is probably eager to get out there in the world! Has a very tiny scratch or two impossible to see in photos but is clean and in perfect working condition. Takes any standard 9-volt adapter, or any 9-volt battery (supplied). Of course, I looked online after I rediscovered this little jem, only to learn this is the "Mayer Tube Screamer" and all selling for $500 to $750. I think that's a little nuts, so I list mine for $400, and free shipping.
