The ATK500 were the top of the line of the ATK series of basses and were made in the famous FujiGen factory in Japan.
This ATK500KA has an alder body with a gorgeous flame, Koa top. Three-piece maple neck and a massive chrome plated, metal bridge with a single, "Stingray Killer" ATK triple coil pickup. Active preamp vol/bass/mid/treble with a three way toggle. Pos. 1: outer coils in parallel; Pos. 2: neck single coil; Pos. 3: neck single coil with a HP filter for a slightly darker tone. The middle coil is a dummy coil that assists with hum-cancelling in single coil mode.
This 9.4 lb. bass has been professionally cleaned and restored and plays great with low action and sounds big and aggressive. All electronics function normally. As to be expected for a thirty year old bass, there are a few tiny dings here and there and they're all featured in the photos. This is truly a collector's bass in excellent condition for its age.
