Up for sale is my 2025 Gibson Firebird Platypus in Vintage Cherry — listed as excellent but honestly this thing is as close to mint as it gets, never gigged, no marks, no dings. This is Gibson's tribute to the rare 1965 transitional Firebirds, and it's a seriously cool and unique piece — featuring a mahogany body with a glued-in SlimTaper set neck, rosewood fingerboard with acrylic trapezoid inlays, and that iconic signature "Platypus" flat headstock with Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners. Tone-wise it absolutely delivers with two historically accurate Firebird mini humbuckers loaded with Alnico 5 magnets — think bell-like chime clean and punchy blues and rock when you push it, anchored by a Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece. Comes complete with the Gibson hard case and full case candy — Gibson strap, microfiber cloth, multitool, the works — everything exactly as it left the factory.
