Excellent 2023 Gibson Custom Shop R8 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue Plain Maple Top VOS
This is a virtually unplayed 2023 Gibson Custom Shop Historic Collection R8 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue in excellent condition. Serial #83406. This guitar represents Gibson's faithful recreation of the legendary 1958 Les Paul Standard, the year that defined the sunburst Les Paul we all know and love. With its plain maple top, authentic '58 specs, and flawless condition, this is a collector grade Les Paul at a fraction of new pricing.
EXCELLENT MEANS EXCELLENT: This guitar is in pristine, like-new condition with virtually no play wear. It could pass for a brand-new instrument straight from Gibson. All original, complete with case, COA, and case candy. This is not a player grade guitar. This is a carefully maintained example that has been played little to none since leaving the factory.
WHY THE R8 PLAIN TOP: The 1958 Les Paul Standard represents the beginning of the sunburst era and the peak of late '50s Les Paul design. The R8 Plaintop is Gibson Custom Shop's faithful recreation of that guitar.
Plain maple top is not a compromise but a tonal advantage. Uniform straight grain provides superior resonance and clarity compared to figured wood.
