This is a terrific unit, in great shape, that has been significantly upgraded from stock.
The dbx 262 has that spanky dbx sound and same feature set as the 160a in a stereo unit with linkable channels.
This 262 has had the following upgrades:
• Jensen JE-123-S steel core output transformers added for extra character and harmonic distortion.
• THAT 2180A premium VCAs in both channels
• Dual channel dual duty input/output op amp swapped out for two individual dedicated mono Burr Brown op amps. Input and output both have dedicated drivers now.
• Audio path capacitors and resistors have been upgraded to Panasonic/Wima, Vishay.
• Detection rolloff adjusted to trigger less on the low frequencies.
• Toroidal power transformer for ample power delivery.
• Voltage rails increased to 18v for extra headroom and a more open sound.
• Control knobs swapped out for a better look in the rack.
