Up for sale is a truly unique piece of Fender history — a 1959 Telecaster body paired with a 1957 neck, famously played and loved by David Bromberg. He affectionately calls it his “Tele Mutt,” and for good reason — this is a guitar with soul, history, and character to spare.
The bridge pickup is original to the ’59 body and delivers that classic Tele twang — bright, clear, and punchy, just the way it should. The neck pickup, though re-wound, is also vintage-correct and offers a surprisingly rich, expressive tone. David himself put it best: “These Telecaster neck pickups are not known to have much of a useable sound, but I’m crazy about the sound of my rewound neck pickup.”
It’s a working player’s guitar, not a museum piece — and it shines through the right amp. David liked to run it through a small Electar for that sweet vintage twang.
A rare opportunity to own an artist-loved, road-ready Fender with much life left to give!
