These used Universal Model timpani are in perfect playing condition and have a clear, focused sound. The pedals work silently, smoothly and hold the pitch. The Fiberglass bowls reduce the overall weight making them the perfect instrument for the working professional percussionist, college or university percussion major, or for a school music program seeking to expand its instrument holdings.
The Planet Exactone Timpani Tuning Gauges (purchased from Falls Music, New York) are highly accurate and very durable. The note markers are securely housed within the gauge. The gauges are located directly in front of the player for easy visibility - a must for show work in a dark orchestra pit.
Also included and pictured are plywood protective covers and the original durahyde covers for each drum. One of the covers is slightly scuffed - as pictured.
I’ve used these drums in churches and in the orchestra pits for a few professional shows with the Fox Theatre, Repertory Theatre, and Muny Orchestra in St. Louis, with great success.
The heads are Ludwig Weather Master, white, slightly used. There are a few surface scuffs (pictured) on the shells from transporting them.
