Description: The original and only owner of this Nashville beauty bought her from the fine folks of Gruhn Guitars in August of 1996. She spent the next twenty five plus years safe at home, played occasionally, stored snuggly in her original hard-shell case.
The LPR-7 was part of Gibson’s Custom Shop Historic Collection and an early attempt to recreate the specs of the iconic and sought after 1957 model. She sports a carved Maple top, a solid Mahogany body and neck (50’s rounded profile) and a 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. She has two covered BurstBucker pick-ups, a Tune-o-matic bridge, nickel hardware and a raised cream pick-guard. An honest bid to recreate an iconic classic.
This example is as clean as could be hoped for, virtually un-played. No play ware, no fret ware, she has a few tiny scratches that I have pointed out in the photos. The headstock logo has lost a little bit of paint as well (see photo). She is, at nine pounds, not too heavy as Les Pauls go. Her neck is straight and her truss rod works. She is a fantastic sounding, easy playing faithful recreation of a classic in remarkable shape for her age.
Very recently (2023) set up and sorted by the meticulous craftspeople at Retrofret in Brooklyn NY.
She will ship in her OHSC with all of the paperwork and candy intact.
