Upgraded Weird Audio W47 Mod1. I did the following upgrades (nerd alert!)...
- replaced output coupling cap with JB JFX
- removed RF filter caps (C9/C10 that are unnecessary)
- replaced coupling cap across capsule with Vishay/Roderstein (ERO) MKP polypropylene
- adjusted capsule polarization voltages
It has the stock Wima & Rubycon filter caps which are good quality and it has the stock dual-backplate K47-style capsule. TAD 7025 high grade tube is installed. It is similar to the Warm Audio 47, but just sounds better (and even better again with the upgrades).
Will it ever be a $20,000 vintage Neumann U47? No, but what clone is? This does that vintage 47 sound pretty well and you don't have to sell your first born to afford it. This is the best U47 style mic you will find in this price range (Weird Audio is a small boutique mic builder from Texas). Vocals, room mic, acoustic guitar, drum overhead, whatever you'd use a U47 on. Very minor wear (from normal usage) - overall excellent working condition. Only selling because I have 2 of these (and I'm keeping one).
shipped fully insured, lower USA 48 only.
Only marked as no returns because I am just a lowly musician/studio rat and not a big store.
