Phase Linear Professional Series E20 12 band graphic equalizer is a rack mount, high quality, heavy duty piece of audio equipment from the late 80s. Essential for live sound applications to shape vocal or instruments going to a house or monitor system. This has obvious wear on the case with lots of "Rack Rash" but performs well. Channel B slider for the 31.5 frequency slot is missing it's grip pad but slider is still accessible & works as intended. Took unit apart cleaned & tested all sliders as well as level controls & bypass switches. Sound processes thru the EQ without noise or dirty spots on all controls. The worse part of this unit's operation is the dust cover slots that protect the sliders. During testing I found the foam dust barrier inside the front was swelled up from age and made the +9 to+12 & -9 to -12 areas of the adjustment zones spongey. Exercising the slides opened this up to where it was before & now works as should. This issue had NO EFFECT on the sonic adjustment or quality This can be seen in the front pix if you look into the slots behind the front cover. This foam is great for keeping dirt out of the control slots but has its quirks as it gets old, A good, professional grade, solid piece of sound equipment, very versatile & clean......but admittedly a little ugly. priced accordingly.
