A handy way to have a simple portable rig. “I would like to store my MIDI-Setup (keyboard splits, MIDI assignments, patches, numbers, etc) in a module, because sometimes I play out of town\/state and would rather rent a MIDI controller rather then send my A-90.””Will the K2000VPR map the necessary splits and MIDI assignments, allowing me to connect any MIDI controller to it and play the keyboard splits without having to reassign the splits and patch assignments on the keyboard controller?” According to our resident Kurzweil Guru, Daniel Fisher (you all know him as Chief Soundware Engineer):”Yes, Kurzweil Setups can take a single-channel MIDI Controller keyboard and re-route it to three Internal\/External MIDI Channels each with their own velocity ranges and key ranges. You must set the LocalKybCh (Local Keyboard Channel) parameter in the MIDI Recieve Page, to the Channel that your remote MIDI Controller is sending. (Default is “None”.)”Ed- For those with more sophisticated rigs using several modules there are some MIDI patchbay’s that will allow this sort of zoning and patch mapping as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","categories":[],"tags":[],"storecat":[],"itemids":[],"manufacturers":[33482],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v17.9 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Check out the Setting up modules with multiple zones for use with a generic controller page at Sweetwater \u2014 the world's leading music technology and instrument retailer!\" \/>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/setting-up-modules-multiple-zones-for-generic-controller\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_US\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Setting up modules with multiple zones for use with a generic controller - SweetCare\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"This question is specific to Kurzweil, but the concept applies to a number of the more sophisticated modules.
