Check your products warranty policy before proceeding with your own installations.<br \/>   Here is a list of tips for avoiding chip damaging static electricity:<br \/>&#8211; Before installing, be sure that you are grounded with a ground strap attached to your wrist.  <br \/>&#8211; Avoid movement (i.e. rubbing your feet on the carpet) that may generate static.<br \/>&#8211; Keep SIMMs and DIMMs in their protective packaging until they are installed.
