Install the Wave Driver.
Open the PCI-324 Console. Set the Clock source to Internal ( when working
with analog). Pick a sample rate. Assign one bank to Analog. Enable all 8
inputs. Then assign the output source as “From Computer”. If “Enable
Routing” is unchecked you will not see the extra menus for inputs and
outputs and we enable the inputs and outputs for you. For additional
connections with digital devices you can refer to your Hardware manual as
well as the Auto Setup Wizard for further instructions. For now, this basic
configuration will get you going.
In Cakewalk:
1. Under the Options Menu, select Audio.
2. Select the Drivers Tab at the top of the window. Then select the inputs
and outputs that you plan to use with your Motu Hardware.
3. Select the General Tab. Now choose any matching Motu Hardware ports for
the Playback and Recording the Timing Master. For example, 2408: Analog 1-2
& 2408: Analog 1-2.
4. In this window you should also choose the Sample Rate of the File you are
about to record. Be sure to choose the sample rate that matches your Motu
Audio Hardware. Look at the hardware or open the PCI-324 console if you
aren’t sure what is currenty selected. If you are working with a digital
transfer, you should be extra careful that both Cakewalk and your Motu
Hardware match the sample rate of the digital source.
5. You can select your File Bit Depth to record either 16 or 24 bit files.
6. There is also an option for Driver Bit Depth. You may have options for
16,18,20,22, & 24. The PCI-324 driver only supports bit depths of 16, 24,
and 32. If you need to record a 20 bit source or a 24 bit source you should
set the Driver Bit Depth to 24. Choosing 18,20, or 22 will generate an error
the next time Cakewalk is launched.
7. Now you can go to an audio track and double click on Source to choose
your input. Double click on Port to choose an output.
Note: It is possible for Cakewalk Pro Audio to become confused about the
correct settings for the installed audio hardware at times. If you begin to
notice odd behavior regarding audio recording/playback you may need to reset
the Cakewalk audio preferences file.
One behavior is that “Enable Simultaneous Record/Playback” becomes greyed
out. This option is located in the Audio Options selection under the Tools
menu. In Cakewalk Pro Audio 6 this file is called audmm.ini. In Cakewalk Pro
Audio 7 & 8 the file is called ttsauddx.ini. Perform a find in Windows for
the appropriate file, and move the file to the Recycle bin.
Upon relaunching Cakewalk, you will be advised that Cakewalk is going to
perform a series of tests to determine the correct settings for your audio
hardware. Allow Cakewalk to finish these tests. You will then need to reset
the Sync and Timing Master settings in the Audio Options dialog box.
Monitoring audio input with Cakewalk.
In order to Monitor your audio inputs while using Cakewalk you’ll need to
use our CueMix Console. With the CueMix Console you can assign any input to
a pair of outputs while controlling volume and panning, and the latency will
be much less than letting the a host application handle all of the patch
through. This way the host application will record the input but CueMix will
let you monitor the input. When using CueMix you will not be able to use
real time host effects with your inputs.

Open the PCI-324 CueMix Console and turn on the Master Fader. On the right
hand side you will see the 4 stereo Busses that you can assign to a pair of
outputs.
For example, lets assign the top menu (Bus 1) to Analog 1-2. Go over to the
channel you are routing input to, such as Analog 1 or 2. The Cue Mix console
can display all three banks so you should look at the upper left hand corner
to make sure it is displaying the analog bank or the bank you are using. You
can use the scroll bar at the bottom to view each bank of 8 channels. Now if
you have signal coming into Analog 1 you can turn on the fader and assign it
to Bus #1 by enabling the top button. That input is now being routed to
Analog 1-2. Use the pan knob for desired panning. You can use the Master
fader to adjust your overall output.
Once you are done recording you can disable the faders in CueMix and let the
host application handle the routing on playback. The easiest way to disable
CueMix is to turn off the Master Fader.

[34853,34728,34854,34859,34860,34729

17459,17460,17611
33566

<meta property="og:description" content="Cakewalk and Motu Audio Hardware Cakewalk with the 2408, 1224, 24i, & the 308.These are the basic instructions to help get you started with Cakewalk ProAudio while using MOTU Audio interfaces. When you run the Motu Core installer you will have the option to install theASIO Driver as well as the Wave Driver.
