{"id":3812,"date":"2001-07-20T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2001-07-20T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/?p=3812"},"modified":"2007-04-27T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2007-04-27T00:00:00","slug":"launch-protools-error-message-telling-plugin-expired-rid-of","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/launch-protools-error-message-telling-plugin-expired-rid-of\/","title":{"rendered":"When I launch ProTools  I get a error message telling me that a plugin has expired.How do I get rid of the expired plugin?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FOR MACINTOSH USERS:<br \/>1.Make sure no applications are running.<br \/>2.Go to your Mac hard drive , then your &#8220;System&#8221; folder.<br \/>3.In your System Folder you will see your &#8220;DAE&#8221; Folder.Open this.<br \/>4.Here you will see a folder called &#8220;Plugins&#8221;<br \/>5.Open this folder and view its contents as a &#8220;List&#8221;<br \/>6.Search for the expired plugin by name.<br \/>7.Remove the plugin\/s from this folder&#8230;(Some plugins have multiple formats..AS..ect..)<br \/>8.As long as the Plugin\/s are not in the Plugins folder , they will not be initialized upon launch ,eliminating the Expired message!<br \/>9.You can keep the expired plugins somewhere else , or Trash them if not needed.<\/p>\n<p>FOR PC USERS:<br \/>1.Make sure you&#8217;re not in Pro Tools.<br \/>2.Go to your control panel (Start Menu, Settings, Control Panel)<br \/>3.Go to Add\/Remove programs<br \/>4.Find the expired plugins in the list and hit Add\/Remove.
