1. Make sure you have FreeMIDI 1.46 and Clockworks 1.07 – if you don’t, you can download them from MOTU’s website (motu.com)<\/p>\n
2. In FreeMIDI 1.4, you can choose “use OMS when available” and “allow other applications” in the preferences window. You can now use OMS in the freeMIDI shell… pretty cool. You don’t really need to have the video deck in the OMS setup.<\/p>\n
3. In Clockworks, select the DV deck. There are a few modes in which this deck can be in. My buddy at MOTU is guessing it’s currently in “Crash” mode, which will record on all tracks. You should be able to change that mode; either in clockworks (mini-menu of the MMC\/Sync window), or on the DV deck. You need to put it into “Assemble” mode. Then ADD record tracks to the DV deck in Clockworks (mini-menu of the MMC\/Sync window). The first two SHOULD be audio tracks.<\/p>\n
4. Set the DTP to internal. Have ProTools or StudioVision set to slave to sync (MTC) and waiting on standby. If you have PT hardware, connect the DTP’s superclock out, into your 888 or 882’s slave clock in.<\/p>\n
5. Use Clockworks as your MMC\/transport control – eliminating studioVision or ProTools’ MMC control setup. The DTP will now be the MMC & Sync master.<\/p>\n
