Play is a multi-timbral instrument, meaning that it can load multiple instruments in one instance (up to 16 when being used as a plugin).

Begin by loading another instrument from your Play browser, then go back to the Player window. You will now see that the new instrument is currently being viewed in your “Instrument” selector window (at the top right of the Play interface). All of the parameters in the Play interface now pertain to this newly loaded instrument, including the MIDI information. You will want to assign this instrument the next available MIDI channel, which can be done by clicking the up arrow in the Midi Channel box, in the Midi information section of the Player window. In your sequencer you will need a new MIDI track and will set its output to this MIDI channel.

Continue to do this to load more instruments into one instance of Play.

*Note for advanced users:: On computers with multiple processors, we recommend evenly distributing instruments in more than one instance of Play, as this will make best use of the multi-processor capabilities of your computer.

[35767

101161,5970,101164,11693,101162,11711,30594
33322

<meta property="og:description" content="After loading your first instrument in Play, you are now ready to load a second instrument in Play and assign it a new MIDI channel.
