BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
– Download the “Transmit” FTP Utility from Panic (this is freeware). You can find it at www.panic.com\/transmit.
– If you are connecting the HD24 directly to your Mac, make sure you are using a CAT5 Crossover cable. If you’re connecting through a router or LAN, you can use standard CAT5 Ethernet cables to connect the Mac and the HD24 to your router.<\/p>\n
1: Go to the Mac System Preferences and choose “Network.” When the Network window opens, click on the drop-down menu for “Location” and choose “New Location.” Name this location “HD24.”<\/p>\n
2: Click on the line that shows “Built-In Ethernet,” then click the “Configure” button.<\/p>\n
3: Click on the “TCP\/IP” button, then open the drop-down menu for “Configure IPv4” and select “Manually.”<\/p>\n
4: Enter “192.168.001.101” on the “IP Address” line. Enter “255.255.255.000” on the “Subnet Mask” line. Click the “Apply Now” button.<\/p>\n
5: Make sure that you have enabled “FTP Server Mode” on the HD24. You can find this option by continuously pressing the “Utility” button on the HD24’s front panel.<\/p>\n
6: Open the “Transmit” FTP utility that you downloaded. Enter “192.168.001.100” on the “Server” line, then click “Connect.” You should now see the contents of the active HD24 drive.<\/p>\n
You can now transfer files to and from the HD24 and your computer. The audio files for Projects\/Songs are stored in the “AIFF” and “WAV” folders on the HD24’s hard drive, depending on what format you record in.<\/p>\n
When you are finished, click on “Disconnect” and close Transmit. You will need to go back into the Mac System Preferences, select “Network,” and set the “Location” to “Automatic” to reestablish your original network configuration. Also, hit “Stop” on the HD24 to disable FTP Server Mode.<\/p>\n
