Therefore, whatever device you are using for playback needs to have a WDM or MME driver component to it.  Most pro audio interfaces do.  Digidesign hardware may require the use of the MMe Helper application.  More information can be found here:  https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/ts\/results.php?Keyword=mme+helper&#038;-find=Go%2<\/p>\n<p>Once your drivers are installed, go to Options > Preferences > Preview in CD Architect.  Under &#8220;Audio device Type,&#8221; you can choose between &#8220;Windows Classic Wave Driver&#8221; and  &#8220;Microsoft Sound Mapper.&#8221;  If you choose &#8220;Microsoft Sound mapper,&#8221; then your output device will be whatever device you have listed for audio playback in the Sounds and Audio devices Control Panel. The option for &#8220;Default audio playback device&#8221; will be grayed out in CD Architect.
