You can do it using Standard MIDI Files (see WFTD archive Standard MIDI File), or by doing a Real time transfer. If your keyboard can save its internal sequences as SMF you should save the song as a SMF and then import it into your computer sequencer. Assuming your keyboard can save sequences to a floppy drive this is pretty much as simple as loading that disk into your computer and importing the data into a sequence. The manuals for the software sequencers all tell how to do it for the particular program you are using.To do a real time transfer you will connect a MIDI out of the keyboard to the MIDI in of your computer. Set the computer sequencer so that it is slaving to incoming MIDI clock (NOT MTC) (see WFTD archives MIDI Clock &#038; MTC). Some sequencers need to be set to record on more than one track at a time (Performer). Again, the specific will vary from sequencer to sequencer so you&#8217;ll have to consult your manual, but you just set up the computer to record and press play on your keyboard sequencer. Obviously the first method is much easier, which is why it is still nice to have a floppy drive built in to a keyboard.
