When turning the (1) knob in the ‘ASSIGNABLE KNOB’ section to vary the brightness of the S80 Voice, ‘Dark Grand’ (PRE1: 004), the keys A#3 – F#5 do not respond correctly; this is because Element 4 of the Voice has not been assigned to the (1) knob. It is also set to a different Filter Type than Elements 1 – 3.
The problem can be demonstrated by turning the (1) knob as the keyboard is played; the key range A#3 – F#5 will not respond the same way that the other keys do. To correct this, the (1) knob needs to be assigned to Element 4. Also, an 18dB\/oct LPF (Low Pass Filter) needs to be assigned to Element 4.<\/p>\n
Selecting the ‘Dark Grand’ Voice: <\/p>\n
1) Press the [VOICE] button.
2) Press the [PRE1] Bank button.
3) Press the [A] Group button.
4) Press the [4] Number button. The screen will display ‘PRE1:004(A04)[Pf:Dark Grand]’.
Assigning Element 4 to the (1) Knob: <\/p>\n
1) Press the [EDIT] button.
2) Turn the (A) knob fully counter-clockwise to select ‘C’ (Common) in the lower left corner of the screen.
3) Press and hold the [SHIFT] button, then turn the (PAGE) knob to select ‘Com:>CTL’ at the top of the screen.
4) Release the [SHIFT] button, then turn the (PAGE) knob to select ‘CTL Set2’ in the upper left corner of the screen.
NOTE: The ‘EL Sw’ (Element Switch) function is set to ‘123-‘, indicating that Element 4 has not been assigned to the (1) knob.
5) Turn knob (1) knob fully clockwise until the ‘-‘ (Element 4) in the screen is flashing.
6) Press the [INC\/YES] button to display ‘4’ in the screen. The screen will now read, ‘1234’. This indicates that the (1) knob (KN1, which is using Control Change 16) is now controlling all four Elements of the Voice.
NOTE: If the ‘4’ is still blinking, this is because it was the last number selected; no other buttons need to be pressed.
Assigning the Correct Filter Type to Element 4: <\/p>\n
1) Press and hold the [SHIFT] button, then turn the (PAGE) knob to select ‘Elem:>FLT’ at the bottom of the screen.
2) Release the [SHIFT] button, then turn the (PAGE) knob to select ‘FLT Type’ in the upper left corner of the screen.
3) Turn the (A) knob to move the cursor to ‘4’ (Element 4).
4) Turn the (B) knob to change the Filter Type to ‘LPF18’, which is the filter used by the other Elements of the Voice.
Verifying Correct Operation of the Filter Control and Storing the Voice: <\/p>\n
1) To verify that the procedure has successfully assigned the Filter Control to all 4 Elements, press the [VOICE] button once, to return to ‘VCE Play’ mode.
2) Turn the (1) knob while playing different regions of the keyboard, to make sure that all the regions are responding evenly.
3) Set the (1) knob to the desired brightness.
4) Press the [STORE] button to store the edited Voice to an appropriate Internal Bank Memory location.
5) Turn the (1) knob to select the Internal memory bank (INT) or an External memory card (EXT).
6) Turn the (2) knob to select the destination number.
7) Press the [ENTER] button.
IMPORTANT: The following procedure will overwrite the Voice currently in the destination memory location.
8) Press the [INC\/YES] button to store the edited ‘Dark Grand’ Voice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","categories":[],"tags":[34687],"storecat":[],"itemids":[],"manufacturers":[115924],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\t\n
