There are three software components (Boot Block, Operating System, and Soundware) to the PC2 series, it’s best to make sure they are all updated.<\/p>\n
CHECKING THE BOOT BLOCK VERSION NUMBER<\/p>\n
If the PC2 is on, power it off. Power on the PC2, while it says Please Wait on the display, press the:<\/p>\n
Panic button for keyboard models
Edit\/Store button for rack models<\/p>\n
After a few seconds, you’ll see a message indicating that you’re running the boot block. The bottom line of the display shows the boot block version number. * This message does not stay on the screen for long, so check it quickly. If the version is lower than 2.0, you need to update your boot block. Please see the CD-Rom manuals or another knowledge base article for how to do this.<\/p>\n
CHECKING THE OS VERSION NUMBER<\/p>\n
There are two ways to check the version of the operating system on the PC2 series. The first is to watch the display as the unit powers up. It will say Welcome to the PC2, and the version number.<\/p>\n
The second way to check the version of the operating system is to check the value of the OS Version parameter in the Global menu.<\/p>\n
Press the Global button, then press the Right cursor button until you see a parameter called OS Version. If you don’t see this parameter, your OS is version 1.x and needs to be udpated.<\/p>\n
CHECKING THE SOUNDWARE VERSION NUMBER<\/p>\n
Press the Global button, then press the Right cursor button until you see Int Sound Ver (Internal Sound Version) parameter.
