Also, if you don\u2019t have enough connections on your computer and use a hub, make sure it\u2019s powered. Passive hubs do not provide enough power to transfer data to and from your Raven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Connect the HDMI and USB cables from the Raven to your computer, ensuring the connections are secure.<\/li><li>Power on the Raven.<ul><li>If the power light is green, you\u2019re good to go. If the power light is orange, there may be a connection issue with your graphics card, or your graphics driver may be out of date.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Create-iLok-Steven-Slate-Audio-Accounts\">Create iLok &amp; Steven Slate Audio Accounts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Before setting up the Raven MTi MAX, you must first register the device with Slate Media Technology and iLok. Once it\u2019s registered, you will get access to the drivers and Raven software necessary to use your device within your DAW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f3f2f1\"><strong>NOTE: <\/strong>If you already have an iLok account, skip this section and continue to <strong><a href=\"#Create-a-Steven-Slate-Audio-Account\">Create a Steven Slate Account<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Create-an-iLok-Account\">Create an iLok Account<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Raven MTi MAX software is licensed with iLok. You\u2019ll need to link its iLok license to your iLok account to use it. If you don\u2019t have an iLok account, you must create one and install the iLok License Manager app. Follow the steps below to get started. If you\u2019re new to iLok, learn more about iLok licensing in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/ilok-license-manager-tutorial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">iLok Setup Guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Visit iLok\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilok.com\/#!registration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">registration page<\/a> and complete the registration form. Note your User ID and password; both are case-sensitive.<\/li><li>Download and install the latest version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilok.com\/#!license-manager\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">iLok License Manager application<\/a>.<\/li><li>Launch the software and sign in to your iLok account.<ul><li><em>(Optional) <\/em>Connect an iLok USB dongle. When prompted, click <strong>Yes <\/strong>to register it to your account.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilok.com\/#!license-manager\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"976\" height=\"815\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2019\/12\/iLok-Website-Home-Page.jpg\" alt=\"iLok Website Home Page\" class=\"wp-image-1778477\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2019\/12\/iLok-Website-Home-Page.jpg 976w, https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2019\/12\/iLok-Website-Home-Page-300x251.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2019\/12\/iLok-Website-Home-Page-768x641.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 976px) 100vw, 976px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Click the image to create an iLok account.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Create-a-Steven-Slate-Audio-Account\">Create a Steven Slate Audio Account<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After creating an iLok account, you must create a Steven Slate Audio account and link your iLok ID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/my.stevenslateaudio.com\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Steven Slate Audio account<\/a>. If you don\u2019t have an account yet, click <strong>SIGN UP<\/strong> and follow the account registration instructions.<ul><li>Check your spam folder if you don\u2019t receive an account verification email!<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Once you\u2019re logged in, hover over your name on the top right, click <strong>Account Settings<\/strong>, then click <strong>iLok<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Enter your iLok User ID, then click <strong>Verify<\/strong>. Steven Slate Audio will email you a verification code.<ul><li>Make sure you enter the iLok User ID <em>exactly as<\/em> you created it, or the license will be sent to the wrong iLok account.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Open your email inbox in a new tab, copy the verification code you received, then go back to the Steven Slate Audio account tab and paste it into the <em>Verification Code <\/em>field.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4>Activating the iLok License<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>After registering the Raven MTi MAX to your account, Steven Slate Audio will deposit an iLok license to the iLok account you entered during the registration process. The license will be listed as <em>Slate RAVEN 4.0 (DAW)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>You can either activate it directly from the iLok License Manager application or during the Raven software installation process outlined below. Check out our guide about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/how-do-i-activate-my-product-licenses-and-transfer-them-to-my-ilok\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">iLok Licenses and Activation Codes<\/a> to learn more.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Register-the-Raven-MTi-MAX\">Register the Raven MTi MAX<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After creating your iLok and Steven Slate Audio account, you must register the Raven using the included Passcode Card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Go to your Steven Slate Audio account page. Click <a href=\"https:\/\/my.stevenslateaudio.com\/redeem\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Add Products<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li><li>Enter the <em>Passcode <\/em>which is located on the Passcode Card, click <strong>Submit<\/strong>, then select the DAW you want to authorize.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/my.stevenslateaudio.com\/redeem\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"978\" height=\"868\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2023\/07\/Steven-Slate-product-redemption-page.png\" alt=\"Steven Slate product redemption page\" class=\"wp-image-1778762\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2023\/07\/Steven-Slate-product-redemption-page.png 978w, https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2023\/07\/Steven-Slate-product-redemption-page-300x266.png 300w, https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2023\/07\/Steven-Slate-product-redemption-page-768x682.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 978px) 100vw, 978px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Click the image to register the Raven<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Update-to-RAVEN-4-0\">Update to RAVEN 4.0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are upgrading your existing Raven MTi 2 or MTi MAX to RAVEN 4.0, you will first need to add the update to your Steven Slate Audio account before installing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Go to your Steven Slate Audio account page and click <strong>Raven<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Under the OS Installer buttons, use the dropdown to select your DAW, then click <strong>Upgrade to RAVEN 4.0<\/strong>. It will then be added to your shopping cart.<\/li><li>Click <strong>Checkout<\/strong>, enter all required information, then click <strong>Continue to payment<\/strong>.<ul><li>Don\u2019t worry! This is a free upgrade for registered Raven users, so you will not be charged.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Click <strong>Complete order <\/strong>and then go back to your account home page. RAVEN 4.0 will now be added to your account.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"How to upgrade from RAVEN 3.0 to 4.0\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/umrj_v30SYY?wmode=transparent&amp;rel=0&amp;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>How to upgrade from RAVEN 3.0 to 4.0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Download-Install-Steven-Slate-Audio-Center\">Download &amp; Install Steven Slate Audio Center<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Steven Slate Audio Center is a standalone application where you will download and install all Steven Slate Audio software, including drivers, Raven graphics driver, Neyrinck, and UPDD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Go to your <a href=\"https:\/\/my.stevenslateaudio.com\/dashboard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Steven Slate Audio account<\/a>.<\/li><li>Click <strong>RAVEN<\/strong>, then select the installer for your OS.<\/li><li>Navigate to your <em>Downloads <\/em>folder, then locate and launch the installer.<ul><li><strong>PC users<\/strong>: don&#8217;t<strong> <\/strong>reboot your computer when prompted during installation. Only reboot it from the <strong>Start <\/strong>menu after the software installation is complete.<\/li><li><strong>Mac users<\/strong>: macOS users may be required to enable the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/macos-security-warnings-and-gatekeeper-de-mystified\/#Enabling-Apps-from-Identified,-Known-Developers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Override Malware Protection setting<\/a> for the Raven application.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Install-Raven-Software\">Install Raven Software<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that Steven Slate Audio Center is installed, you can install the software for your Raven MTi MAX or MTi 2. If you&#8217;re a Mac user, follow these instructions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>If you&#8217;re a Windows PC user, <strong><a href=\"#Windows-PC\">click here<\/a><\/strong> to follow the PC installation procedure.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"MacOS\">MacOS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are using a Raven on Mac, you will be asked to grant access and allow permissions for various drivers and software throughout the installation process. Be sure to follow the on-screen instructions!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f3f2f1\"><strong>TIP: <\/strong>Clicking the icons in the installation window opens the correct system menu you need to be in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Open Steven Slate Audio Center, sign in with your account, and click INSTALL under RAVEN 4.0. You\u2019ll see a prompt asking you to give Slate Audio Center Full Disk Access.<ul><li>Learn more about granting full disk access, privacy, and security settings in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/macos-security-warnings-and-gatekeeper-de-mystified\/#Privacy-Security-Settings-for-Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MacOS Security Warnings and Gatekeepers guide<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Follow the on-screen instructions and go through each step carefully!<\/li><li>The Raven Dashboard will automatically open once installation is complete.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Windows-PC\">Windows PC<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Installing the Raven software on a Windows PC is straightforward. All necessary UPDD and V-Control drivers are included, so no additional software or installation is needed.
