It\u2019s like setting up an acoustic kit with a few additional connections from the module to the pads. Here are a few tips to get you up and running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Use a plastic beater on your bass drum pedal. Felt beaters will tear through the mesh head prematurely.<\/li><li>Avoid placing the drum kit directly on a concrete or wooden floor; the vibrations can cause mistriggering. Instead, place it on a carpet or a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/c1197--Drum_Rugs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">drum rug<\/a> that absorbs and reduces vibrations, which results in optimized performance.<\/li><li>Make sure to match the correct cable to the correct drum\/cymbal pad.<\/li><li>Windows PC users must download the EFNOTE ASIO driver before connecting the module to the computer. This lets you not only play along with your favorite songs but also take control with the <a href=\"https:\/\/ef-note.com\/products\/drums\/app\/tools\/tools.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EFNOTE Tools app<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Press <strong>MENU <\/strong>and press <strong>Bluetooth<\/strong> to open the Bluetooth settings. If the status says <em>Off<\/em>, then press it to enable Bluetooth.<\/li><li>Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device. It\u2019s always best practice to run the latest firmware for compatibility purposes, as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Press <strong>MENU<\/strong>, <strong>Settings<\/strong>, then <strong>Options<\/strong>, and finally <strong>Info<\/strong>. Note the installed version.<\/li><li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/ef-note.com\/support\/support.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EFNOTE Support page<\/a>, select your kit, and under Downloads, check the Firmware Updater version. If it matches the version installed, then you\u2019re up to date! If not, then download the .zip file and the Firmware Update Tool.<\/li><li>Navigate to your <em>Downloads<\/em> folder, locate the .zip file, and then extract it.<\/li><li>Power on the drum module, connect it to your computer via USB, and then open the EFNOTE Firmware Update Tool.<ul><li><strong>Windows PC users<\/strong>: If you receive a \u201cWindows protected your PC\u201d prompt, choose <strong>More Info <\/strong>and then <strong>Run Anyway<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Once the Update Tool status changes to \u201cDevice Connected,\u201d click <strong>File&#8230;<\/strong>, navigate to the firmware file you just extracted, select it, and click <strong>Execute<\/strong>.<\/li><li>After the firmware update is complete, disconnect the AC adapter from the module, reconnect it, and power the module back on.<ul><li>The LED will start flashing for approximately one minute.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>You will be taken to the home screen when the firmware update is complete.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Adjust-the-Module-Settings\">Adjust the Module Settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Working with the EFNOTE module is straightforward. It\u2019s easy to navigate, so you\u2019ll spend less time diving through menus and more time playing! Before you get up and running, you should update some settings to make sure playing feels as natural as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Update-the-Pad-Settings\">Update the Pad Settings<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While the factory settings are a great starting point, not all drummers have the same playing style, so it\u2019s best to take some time and adjust pad settings such as sensitivity, threshold, and crosstalk.
