Otherwise, you risk damaging your tube amplifier and the Torpedo Captor X+. This SweetCare guide will help you get started, but it is not a substitute for reading the <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.two-notes.com\/doku.php?id=torpedo_captor_x_plus:torpedo_captor_x_plus_user_s_manual\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Two notes Torpedo Captor X+ User\u2019s Manual<\/a>, found online at this link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You use the Torpedo Captor X+ by connecting it between your amp and speaker cabinet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When used as an attenuator, the Captor X+ lowers the amp\u2019s output while preserving optimal tone and passes the signal through to your speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When used as a reactive load box, it enables you to play through your amp silently with no physical speaker connected. It then digitally models speaker cabinets, microphones, and effects in stereo and sends the signal through the XLR outputs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can monitor everything through headphones and send the XLR outputs to an audio interface for recording or to your PA system for live performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To select different Two notes DynIR speaker cab simulations and to program the tone-shaping effects, you use the <strong>Torpedo Remote app<\/strong> with either your computer or your mobile device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On your Mac or Windows computer, you connect the Captor X+ via USB. The USB connection is for using the Torpedo Remote app to program the parameters of the Captor X+\u2019s digital processing. The USB connection <em>does not<\/em> transmit digital audio. To record the output of your amp through the Captor X+, connect the XLR analog audio outputs to an audio interface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also run the app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device connected to the Captor X+ wirelessly over Bluetooth, which is more convenient for use onstage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s get set up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Download-the-Software-&amp;-Register-Your-Purchase-with-Two-notes\">Download the Software &amp; Register Your Purchase with Two notes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Register the Captor X+ and set it up using the apps on your computer and mobile device before you connect the unit to your tube amp and start cranking out those great guitar tones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.two-notes.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Two notes website<\/a>, click \u201c<strong>Login\/Register<\/strong>.\u201d Log in to your existing account or create a new one. You need an amp with either 16-ohm or 8-ohm output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#ffcfd3\">Make sure that you have the correct version of the Torpedo Captor X+, 16-ohm or 8-ohm, to match the load from your amp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#ffcfd3\">You need <strong>speaker cables<\/strong> to connect the output of the amp to the Speaker In on the Torpedo Captor X+ and to connect the Speaker Out jack from the Captor X+ to your speaker cabinet. <strong>Do not<\/strong> use regular guitar instrument cables.
