On November 26, 2025, Neural DSP released a new firmware update, NanOS 2.2.0<\/a> which expands the capabilities of the Nano Cortex yet again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Features in Nano Cortex NanOS 2.2.0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The firmware update adds features that include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neural Capture Version 2 Player<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nano Cortex can load and play V2 Neural Captures created on Quad Cortex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Capture V2 brings higher resolution, greater realism and improved dynamic response to certain devices including fuzz pedals, amplifiers and compressors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To showcase the capabilities of Neural Capture V2, Neural has added 669 V2 Captures across 41 device types to the Cortex Cloud profile for you to download. These include amps, compressors, fuzz pedals, and overdrives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cortex Cloud Offline Mode<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You can now access your device settings in the Cortex Cloud app on your mobile device when you are not connected to the internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Automatic Sum to Mono<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When enabled, Nano Cortex will automatically provide a mono output, summing the stereo signals, when only one cable is connected to the output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tremolo<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is a new addition to the effects library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Capture Auditioning<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You can now try out Captures and IRs from the cloud using the Cortex Cloud app, with a single tap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cloud Backups<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Create up to five backups of all the settings on your Nano Cortex so you can restore a backup if anything should go wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preset Rearrange<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Preset management in the Cortex Cloud app is improved. You can now reorder presets by dragging and dropping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performance Improvements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nano Cortex 2.2.0 improves stability and fixes problems with content management, expression pedal assignments, MIDI control, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Updating the Firmware<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
