We provide a guide for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/how-to-update-firmware-on-a-helix-family-devices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">original Line 6 Helix and HX families here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Line 6 designed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/Stadium--line-6-helix-stadium-amp-modeler-and-fx-processor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Helix Stadium<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/StadiumXL--line-6-helix-stadium-xl-amp-modeler-and-fx-processor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Helix Stadium XL<\/a> as an evolving platform that prompts you when there\u2019s a new firmware that you need to install. Firmware updates are free and they fix bugs and add new features. Here\u2019s how Line 6 implements updates on the Helix Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"Setting-Up-the-Helix-Stadium\"><li><strong><a href=\"#Day-One-Firmware-Update\">Day-One Firmware Update<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#First,-Back-Up-Your-Data\">First, Back Up Your Data<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#Setting-Up-the-Helix-Stadium\">Setting Up the Helix Stadium<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#Update-the-Firmware\">Update the Firmware<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#What-To-Do-If-You-Can\u2019t-Update-Over-Wi-Fi\">What To Do If You Can\u2019t Update Over Wi-Fi<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#SweetCare-Line-6-Helix-Stadium-Guides\">SweetCare Line 6 Helix Stadium Guides<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Day-One-Firmware-Update\">Day-One Firmware Update<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When you first take your new Stadium out of the box, you must update it to the newest firmware version. When you connect your Stadium unit to the local Wi-Fi and the Internet and log in to your Line 6 account, you will automatically be prompted to do this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Going forward, whenever your Stadium is connected to Wi-Fi and the Internet, you\u2019ll see a small red dot on the menu icon in the upper left corner of the display screen every time Line 6 releases a new firmware update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"First,-Back-Up-Your-Data\">First, Back Up Your Data<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019ve been using your Stadium for awhile and your unit has your own custom presets, IRs and other data, we recommend that you make a full-state backup of all the data on your Stadium to a microSD card inserted in the Stadium\u2019s card slot. If anything goes wrong with a firmware update, you can restore your data from that backup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learn how to make a full state backup in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/line-6-helix-stadium-data-backup-and-factory-reset\/#How-to-Back-Up-and-Restore-Data-on-Helix-Stadium\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SweetCare Line 6 Helix Stadium Quickstart Guide &gt; How to Back Up and Restore Data on Helix Stadium<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/line-6-helix-stadium-data-backup-and-factory-reset\/#How-to-Back-Up-and-Restore-Data-on-Helix-Stadium\" class=\"relatedcontent_link\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-related-content\"><div class=\"relatedcontent_block\" style=\"background-image:url(https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2025\/11\/20251118_Helix_Stadium_Factory_Reset_1600x838.jpg);background-size:cover;background-position:center\"><div class=\"relatedcontent_overlay_content\"><\/div><div class=\"relatedcontent-text relatedcontent_content\"><p class=\"relatedcontent_title\" style=\"color:#fff\">Line 6 Helix Stadium Data Backup and Factory Reset<\/p><p class=\"relatedcontent_subhead\" style=\"color:#fff;border:none\">How To Back Up and Restore Data on Helix Stadium<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/a>\n\n\n\n<h2>Setting Up the Helix Stadium<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To set up your Stadium, you\u2019ll need to connect to your local Wi-Fi network, so you\u2019ll need to know the name of the network and the password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Helix Stadium takes about 60 seconds to boot up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first time you power up you\u2019ll see the Welcome screen. Tap <strong>Next<\/strong> and follow the steps to set up your device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enable <strong>Wi-Fi<\/strong>, tap to select your local network, and enter your password to connect the Stadium to your network and the Internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the Log In screen, you\u2019ll see a QR code and a 6-character alphanumeric code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three different methods to sign in to your Line 6 account and register. If you don\u2019t have an account, you can create one at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do <strong>one<\/strong> of these:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Using your phone, scan the QR code. This will take you to the login page in your phone\u2019s browser.<\/li><li>On your computer, you can go to <a href=\"https:\/\/line6.com\/go\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/line6.com\/go<\/a> and log in there. You\u2019ll need the 6-character code displayed on the Stadium screen.<\/li><li>On the Stadium, if you already have an account, tap <strong>Log in with Username<\/strong>. Enter your email address and password.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Update-the-Firmware\">Update the Firmware<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When you connect to Wi-Fi and the Internet and log in to your Line 6 account on the Stadium, you will automatically be prompted to install the firmware update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you see the prompt, read the <em>Release Notes<\/em> displayed on the screen, and tap <strong>Download Now<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the download is complete, tap <strong>Update Now<\/strong>. Wait for the process to complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#fff5c7\">I<strong>MPORTANT:<\/strong> Be patient during the update as it may take several minutes. Do not power off or touch any of the settings on your Stadium until the messages on the screen inform you that the update is complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"What-To-Do-If-You-Can\u2019t-Update-Over-Wi-Fi\">What To Do If You Can\u2019t Update Over Wi-Fi<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you can\u2019t connect to Wi-Fi, or for some reason the update isn\u2019t performed, you can install the firmware manually by connecting your Stadium to your computer via a USB cable and running the <strong>Helix Stadium editor\/librarian app<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow the instructions in the <a href=\"https:\/\/manuals.line6.com\/en\/helix-stadium\/live\/device-firmware-updates-using-the-helix-stadium-ap\" target=\"_blank\"
