The setup may differ slightly depending on the model, but the main concept is the same. Be sure to go through the included DTX Assembly Guide for specific instructions!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some tips and tricks to get you up and running!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Label the cables and make sure they\u2019re connected to the correct jacks.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Use hook-and-loop cable ties to secure the cabling to the drum rack and to keep the wiring harness neat. This will also ensure that the cables don\u2019t get tangled.<\/li><li>You can use a splitter cable to connect two pads to one jack. Please note that if connected in that configuration, the two pads will become single-zone triggers.<\/li><li>Place your DTX kit on a carpet or a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/c1197--Drum_Rugs?_queryID=ed5b1dac708e5b9cc3e961187e0f330d&amp;_index=production_products\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">drum rug<\/a>. Not only can you build kits, but you can also edit kit settings to add effects, to adjust sample tuning, and to mix levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>While on the main screen, press the <strong>INST (F1)<\/strong> button, then strike the pad with which you wish to work. You should see the drum associated with the pad listed.<ol><li>The <em>Category <\/em>is the sample type where the voice resides (e.g., snare, tom, kick).<\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Use the <strong>F1 <\/strong>and <strong>F2 <\/strong>buttons to navigate the settings you wish to change.<\/li><li>Use the <strong>+ <\/strong>and \u2013 buttons or the <strong>+\/- <\/strong>encoder to change each setting.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Import-Samples\">Import Samples<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#fff5c7\"><strong>IMPORTANT! <\/strong>All samples must be 16-bit 44.1kHz .WAV files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can import custom samples from a <a href=\"https:\/\/usa.yamaha.com\/files\/download\/other_assets\/6\/1363246\/ED_en_DTXPRO.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">compatible USB thumb drive<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Load your samples onto a formatted USB thumb drive and insert it into the back of the module.<\/li><li>Press the <strong>MENU <\/strong>button, and with <em>Job <\/em>highlighted, press <strong>ENTER (F3)<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Navigate to <em>User Voice<\/em>, select<em> Import All<\/em>, and press <strong>ENTER (F3)<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Press <strong>IMP TYPE (F1)<\/strong>. It\u2019s recommended you select<em> TO EMPTY<\/em>.<\/li><li>Press <strong>IMPORT (F3)<\/strong> and <strong>YES (F1)<\/strong> to import the samples.
