If you\u2019ve got a Revv amp<\/a> with a built-in Two notes reactive load box and digital module, then you\u2019ve got a genuine tube guitar amplifier that provides a \u201csilent stage\u201d option and a range of speaker-cabinet emulations for live performance and recording. These models include the Revv Generator 120 MKIII, Generator 100 MKIII, Generator G50, Dynamis D40, G20, G25, D20, and Dynamis D25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connect your amp to your computer with the Two notes Torpedo Remote app, and you open a range of options for choosing your own custom DynIR cab emulations and configuring virtual microphone placement and tone-shaping controls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Register Your Purchase, Download the Manual<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    To obtain your full warranty from Revv, go to their website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, and on the lower left, click \u201cWarranty Registration<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    On the next page, fill out your information, including your model and serial number. Click \u201cSubmit<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    On the Revv Amplifier Support page<\/a>, locate your model and download the User Manual<\/strong>. You\u2019ll need to refer to it for all the other functions of your amp besides the Two notes features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You must also download the Two notes Torpedo Remote app<\/strong> from the Two notes company website. We\u2019ll cover that in the designated section below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Two notes DI Controls & Connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    At the end of the signal chain of your Revv amp\u2019s vacuum tube amplifier are two components built by the Two notes company: the reactive load box<\/strong> and the digital module<\/strong> which provides their DynIR impulse response (IR) speaker cabinet models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Depending on your Revv model, on the front panel you\u2019ll see these controls and connections for the Two notes components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Pre\/Post button<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    In Pre<\/strong> mode, the full signal path of the tube preamp and the tube amplifier is sent to the Two notes unit, which provides the DynIR speaker cabinet emulation and effects that will then be sent to the line output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In Post<\/strong> mode, only the preamp signal goes to the Two notes unit, which then provides an emulation of an alternate power amp circuit followed by the speaker cab emulation. This then goes to the line output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Virtual Cabinet selector<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    Turn this to select between the 6 stored presets. You can create your own presets, with entirely different IR speaker cabinet emulations, using the Two notes Torpedo Remote app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Clip LED and Level knob<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    The LED lights up red when the input or output stage of the Two notes module is overloaded, producing undesirable distortion. If this occurs, turn down the Level knob.<\/strong> If it\u2019s still overloading, turn down the amp channel\u2019s Master<\/strong> volume knob.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Headphones<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    Connect headphones with a 1\/4-inch TRS plug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Internal Load\/Speaker button<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    Choosing the Internal Load<\/strong> position engages the Two notes reactive load box, silencing the Revv\u2019s physical speaker connection while the tube amp\u2019s output and the Two notes cabinet simulation are passed to the DI and headphone outputs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the Speaker<\/strong> position your amp operates as normal, connected to your physical speaker cabinet. Even when in the Speaker position, you can still use the Two notes digital emulation at the Torpedo Output<\/strong>. For example, you can send the signal with the emulated cabinet to your front of house mixer while you hear your guitar through the physical speaker cabinet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Torpedo Output<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    Some Revv models have a single mono output, and some have Left and Right, for stereo. Connect XLR cables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    These balanced connections provide a direct output (DI) from the tube preamp and amplifier and the Two notes cabinet simulation, which you can send to your front-of-house or connect to an audio interface for recording.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Ground\/Lift button<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    Toggle this switch to eliminate hum from a ground loop at the XLR outputs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    USB<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    NOTE:<\/strong> The USB connection is for control data to the Torpedo Remote app only; it does not transmit digital audio. To record the output from the amp to your computer or DAW, connect the analog Torpedo Output <\/strong>jacks to an audio interface using XLR cables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Connect a USB-B data cable to your Mac or Windows PC, with an adapter as needed, to run the Two notes Torpedo Remote app to program and create presets, to load new DynIR speaker cabinet simulations, and to update the firmware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Using the Revv Amp With the Two notes Reactive Load Box<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Two notes has a support document on how to find the \u201csweet spot\u201d for tube amp settings when using the reactive load box and the DI output — to get the best tone without prematurely wearing out the tubes.     Using the Revv Amp With The Two notes Torpedo Remote App<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Two notes Torpedo Remote app<\/a> enables you to edit your own custom cab emulation presets which you can then upload to your Revv amp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The app comes in two versions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    All Revv amps can use Torpedo Remote<\/strong> for Mac or Windows PC over a USB cable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In addition, the Revv Generator 120 Mk III, Generator 100 Mk III, Generator G50 and Dynamis D40 have Bluetooth connectivity. On these models, you can use the Two notes Torpedo Wireless Remote app<\/strong> on your iPhone, iPad or Android mobile device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    With Torpedo Remote, you gain direct control over the presets in the amp, letting you not only select a different speaker cab IR but also manipulate virtual microphone selection and position, tone, and other parameters, all running on the Revv amp and going to the DI output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Start with the computer-based app, because it\u2019s capable of updating the firmware on your Two notes module.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Set Up the Torpedo Remote App on Your Computer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    1. On your Mac or your Windows PC, go to the Torpedo Remote page<\/a> on the Two notes company website. Click Download Now<\/strong>.<\/li>
    2. On the next page, select the newest version of Torpedo Remote for your version of macOS or Windows. Download it.<\/li>
    3. In your Downloads folder, run the installer and follow the prompts.<\/li>
    4. Connect your Airwave to your computer using a USB-B data cable (with an adapter as needed). Power up the Revv amp.<\/li>
    5. Launch the Torpedo Remote app.<\/li>
    6. Follow the prompts to create a user account with Two notes. Log in to the account.<\/li>
    7. In the Declaration of ownership<\/strong> dialog, the app will detect your Revv amp and its serial number. Select Register<\/strong> and click OK<\/strong>. Don\u2019t choose Guest mode; you won\u2019t be able to update the firmware or access additional IR models.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Update the Two notes Firmware on Your Revv Amp<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      From time to time, Two notes will provide a firmware update to fix bugs and add new features to the Two notes digital module in the Revv amp. The app will prompt you if there is a firmware update. Follow the on-screen instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The update may take several minutes. During that time, don\u2019t quit the app, don\u2019t disconnect the USB cable, and don\u2019t turn the power off on the Revv amp. The app will inform you when the update is complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Set Up the Torpedo Wireless Remote App on Your iPhone, iPad, or Android Device<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      If you have one of the models of Revv amp equipped with Bluetooth, you can also use the Torpedo Wireless Remote app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
