Please note that you must be connected to your network via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. The activation process depends on the plugin you&nbsp;purchase, so follow the steps below to activate it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Activating-Plugins-to-MPC-Hardware\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Activating Plugins to MPC Hardware\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Before activating your plugin, you will need to sign in to your&nbsp;inMusic&nbsp;account on your MPC.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Connect to your Wi-Fi network by pressing&nbsp;<strong>MENU<\/strong>. You can even customize them to suit your needs. To do so, press the <strong>MENU <\/strong>button or the <strong>PREFERENCES <\/strong>icon at the top-left corner of the screen, and then drag the icon to the sidebar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Function\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Function<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This area houses specific actions associated with the screen you\u2019re currently on. For example, the <em>Main <\/em>screen has the record, track selection, mute, and solo actions, and the <em>Mixer <\/em>screen includes volume, sends effects, and I\/O actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Track-Arrangement-View\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Track\/Arrangement View<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This section is where you will change and manage your tracks and arrange your project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Sequence\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Sequence<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This section shows the information on the currently loaded sequence. You can change the length, the tempo, the location, and the transpositions here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Use the main knob or double-tap the respective function to change its value.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Mixer-Strips\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Mixer Strips<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mixer Strips section, also called the XL Channel Strip, is where you will see the sample and main outputs. You can also add channel effects and adjust the Sends and the I\/O from here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0;color:#f2f1f0\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Create-a-Project\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Create a Project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Though the GUI has been overhauled in the MPC3 update, creating a project couldn\u2019t be easier. Like previous versions, when you turn on your MPC, you will be greeted by the <em>Project<\/em> screen. You can load demos, open recently saved projects, or create something new. This guide will show you how to make a basic project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>From the <em>Demo<\/em> screen, press <strong>NEW PROJECT<\/strong>. You will then enter the <em>Main <\/em>screen.<\/li><li>You can also create a new project by pressing the <strong>PREFERENCES <\/strong>icon (located in the upper-left corner of the display) or the <strong>MENU <\/strong>button. The <strong>NEW PROJECT <\/strong>button is located at the bottom of the page.<\/li><li>The <em>Preferences <\/em>menu is where you will also save and open projects.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0;color:#f2f1f0\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Create-a-Track\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Create a Track<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that you\u2019ve created the project, it\u2019s time to add some tracks. MPC3 uses the same track types as previous versions: audio, drum, plugin, keygroup, MIDI, and CV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To add a track, tap <strong>+ NEW TRACK <\/strong>and choose the track type. If you want to add multiple tracks of the same type (e.g., audio tracks), tap <strong>+ NEW TRACK <\/strong>andtap <strong>ADVANCED. <\/strong>You can then use the encoder to highlight your desired track type. Tap <strong>DO IT <\/strong>to create the tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>You can add up to eight layers on an audio or drum track. Press <strong>LAYER<\/strong>, and then use the main knob to change between layers.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Drum-Tracks\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Drum Tracks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When you create a <em>drum <\/em>track, all 16 slots will be empty. You can either load a preset sound or kit or record live samples from a connected audio source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you select <strong>BROWSE<\/strong>, you can load anything from the <em>Drums <\/em>or <em>Samples<\/em> folders. If you choose <strong>RECORD<\/strong>, you will be taken to a recording screen where you can configure various recording settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Plugin-Tracks\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Plugin Tracks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When you create a <em>plugin <\/em>track, it will default to a factory preset. To change it, double-tap or hold the plug-in name. To open the plug-in, tap the image located next to the plug-in name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Press the <strong>diamond-shaped <em>Sounds<\/em><\/strong>icon to view factory preset instruments and any instruments you downloaded and activated during the firmware-update process. Press the <strong>PREFERENCES<\/strong> or <strong>MENU<\/strong> button if you don\u2019t see the <em>Sounds <\/em>icon in the shortcuts.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0;color:#f2f1f0\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Recording-Tracks\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Recording Tracks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that we\u2019ve created a project, let\u2019s focus on how to work with tracks on the MPC3 firmware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Select the track you wish to record.<\/li><li>Adjust the sample\u2019s level using the top touch-sensitive knob.<ul><li>Alternatively, expand the <em>XL Channel Strip<\/em> and drag the fader line up and down.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Tap <strong>BARS<\/strong>. Use the main knob to change the pattern length. You can manually enter it by double-tapping or holding <strong>BARS<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Press <strong>RECORD<\/strong>, then press <strong>PLAY<\/strong>. You will then get a four-bar count-in before it starts recording. After it has reached the length of the pattern set, the pattern will loop automatically and enter <em>RECORD OVERDUB<\/em>mode. To stop recording, press the <strong>RECORD <\/strong>button.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Editing-Audio-Tracks\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Editing Audio Tracks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can edit the start and end points by dragging the green<strong> S <\/strong>and red <strong>E <\/strong>tabs. You can also double-tap the waveform to edit it in further detail. This includes cutting, looping, reversing, adding effects, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0;color:#f2f1f0\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Edit-and-Save-Projects\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Edit and Save Projects<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After you\u2019ve recorded some tracks, you can edit and arrange everything to your liking through the <em>Arrangement <\/em>page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Tap the <strong>Arrangement <\/strong>tab on the <em>Main<\/em> screen, then double-tap its window. This will pull up the <em>Arrangement<\/em> window. By default, it will show the current project\u2019s MIDI grid (<em>Grid<\/em> view).<\/li><li>From here, you can add and delete notes and adjust note length and placement.<\/li><li>Pinch in and out on the display to zoom in and out.
