The BOSS GX-100 and GX-10 are easy to program and set up due to their large color screens and their knobs, buttons, and footswitches. BOSS also provides versions of the BOSS Tone Studio app for Mac, Windows PC, iPhone, iPad, and Android to enable you to connect your GX unit to BOSS Tone Exchange and BOSS Tone Central so that you can share and download new presets and Live Sets. You can also use BOSS Tone Central to upload new IR (impulse response) speaker cabinet models to your GX. If that weren\u2019t enough, BOSS Tone Central also makes it easy to access and program the unit\u2019s parameters on your computer screen and to save and organize your libraries of presets.     Whether you wish to use the BOSS Tone Studio on your computer or on your mobile device, start by connecting your GX unit to your computer and updating the GX unit\u2019s firmware to the newest version. BOSS refers to its firmware as the \u201cSystem Program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You must update the System Program to use the BOSS Tone Studio app. For each BOSS device, the System Program version number has to match the version number of the corresponding BOSS Tone Studio app, or the two will not communicate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Besides, the System Program update will fix bugs and may add new features and effects to your GX unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After installing the driver and updating the firmware, you will be ready to install BOSS Tone Studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    BOSS provides different apps for the GX-100 and the GX-10. You must use the correct version for your unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If your app does not recognize your GX unit, first check to make sure that you have installed the correct driver on your computer. Next, try upgrading the System Program on your GX unit. See the firmware-update instructions above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        The BOSS Tone Studio apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android mobile devices communicate with the GX-100 and GX-10 over Bluetooth. However, the GX devices don\u2019t have Bluetooth built in. If you want to use your GX with a mobile device, you need to install the BOSS BT-Dual Bluetooth Audio MIDI Dual Adapter<\/a>, sold separately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
