There may be a time when Windows will ask you to reset your password every 42 days. In this guide, we will show you how to remove the password expiration so you can continue to use the same password or pin that you set when you first installed Windows. Follow the instructions below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Disable Windows Password Expiration for All User Accounts<\/strong><\/a><\/li>
  2. Disable Windows Password Expiration for a Single User Account<\/strong><\/a><\/li>
  3. Reset or Remove User Account Password<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Disable Windows Password Expiration for All User Accounts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    IMPORTANT: <\/strong>The text is case sensitive, so make sure to enter the command exactly as shown!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you have multiple User Accounts on your Windows PC and want to disable Windows Password Expiration, follow these instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Press the Windows <\/strong>and R <\/strong>keys on your keyboard, type cmd<\/em>, and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter <\/strong>on your keyboard to run Command Prompt as an Administrator.<\/li>
    2. Type wmic UserAccount set PasswordExpires=False<\/code>, then press the Enter<\/strong> key.<\/li>
    3. Once you see \u201cProperty(s) update successful\u201d for each account, the operation is complete.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        • You must replace \u2018username\u2019<\/em> in the command above with the correct User Account name.<\/li><\/ul><\/li>

          Reset or Remove User Account Password<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          If you wish to reset or completely remove your User Account password, you can run a command from the Run<\/em> prompt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          1. Press the Windows <\/strong>and R <\/strong>keys on your keyboard to open the Run<\/em> prompt.<\/li>
          2. Type netplwiz<\/em> and press Enter<\/strong>.<\/li>
          3. In the User Accounts window that opens, select the User Account for which you want to change the password, then click Reset Password<\/strong>.<\/li>
          4. Create a new password and confirm your choice.<\/li>
          5.
