Follow the sections below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li><a href=\"#Setup-and-Connections\"><strong>Setup and Connections<\/strong><\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#How-to-Play-Chords-on-the-Omnichord-OM-108\"><strong>How to Play Chords on the Omnichord OM-108<\/strong><\/a><ul><li><a href=\"#Change-Presets-and-Loops\"><strong>Change Presets and Loops<\/strong><\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#MIDI-Control\">MIDI Control<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Setup-and-Connections\">Setup and Connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Omnichord OM-108 has a few connections you can work with: Line Out (Mono), Phones, and MIDI Out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>MIDI Out<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Use a standard 5-pin MIDI-DIN cable to send MIDI Out information to an external MIDI device, like a MIDI keyboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Line Out (Mono)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Line Out jack connects your OM-108 to a mixer or a powered speaker. You can also connect it to effects pedals to create a unique sound! You will need to use a standard mono TS cable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Headphones<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Phones jack is used for any pair of stereo headphones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Speaker ON\/OFF<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Use this switch to turn off the built-in speaker when the Omnichord OM-108 is connected to external audio equipment via the Line Out jack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>DC12V \/ 1A jack<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Using AA batteries to power your OM-108 is great for travel. However, if you\u2019re using it at home, it\u2019s recommended that you use a dedicated power supply. Make sure you use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/AD11210AU--suzuki-ad1-1210a-u-power-supply-for-omnichord-om-108\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Suzuki power supply<\/a>! Using a third-party power supply <em>may<\/em> damage the unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>If you have batteries inserted and are using the power supply, the batteries will not power the unit.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4>Battery Settings<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#fff5c7\"><strong>IMPORTANT! <\/strong>Make sure to use brand-name batteries when using the Omnichord OM-108!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use alkaline or rechargeable (Ni-MH) AA batteries with your Omnichord OM-108. Since rechargeable (Ni-MH) batteries have different characteristics, you must change the OM-108\u2019s battery settings so the battery-level indicator is shown correctly. By default, the OM-108 is set to alkaline batteries. Follow these instructions to change the battery type when using rechargeable AAs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Turn off the unit. Insert the rechargeable AA batteries.<\/li><li>Press and hold the <strong>Chord Hold<\/strong> button, then press the <strong>Power <\/strong>button. The <em>Chord Hold <\/em>LED will flash a few times.<\/li><li>After the <em>Chord Hold <\/em>LED stops flashing, the OM-108 will be in rechargeable (Ni-MH) mode.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are in rechargeable (Ni-MH) mode and are switching to regular alkaline buttons, follow these instructions to change the OM-108 back to standard alkaline mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Turn off the unit. Insert the alkaline AA batteries.<\/li><li>Press and hold the <strong>Chord Manual\/Auto <\/strong>button, then press the <strong>Power <\/strong>button. The <em>Chord Manual\/Auto <\/em>LED will flash a few times.<\/li><li>After the <em>Chord Manual\/Auto <\/em>LED stops flashing, the OM-108 will be in alkaline mode.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"How-to-Play-Chords-on-the-Omnichord-OM-108\">How to Play Chords on the Omnichord OM-108<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Suzuki Omnichord OM-108 is simple to use. Just press a button, and it will play a chord. You can use the <em>strumplate<\/em> as an accompaniment instrument for the octaves of fundamental notes associated with the chord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s great is that you\u2019re not limited to major, minor, and seventh chords. Pressing multiple chord buttons lets you play a separate set of chords. For example, pressing the <strong>C-Major <\/strong>and <strong>C-7th <\/strong>buttons together will play a <em>C-Major Seven<\/em> chord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can play nine different types of chords:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Major<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Minor<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Seventh (dominant seventh)<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Major seventh<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Minor seventh<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Augmented (aug)<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Diminished (dim)<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Suspended fourth (sus4)<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Add ninth (add9)<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To play a specific chord, you must press specific button combinations. Just press the <strong>yellow<\/strong> button(s) located under to the <em>Voice <\/em>or <em>Pattern<\/em> sections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Press the <strong>Instant OFF plate <\/strong>located to the right of the strumplate to stop loops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Press the blue <strong>Keyboard<\/strong> button to turn the top row of chord buttons into percussion samples.<\/li><li>Use the included overlay to show what button denotes each sample. This is also useful as it shows you a keyboard layout, which allows you to identify notes clearly.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4>OM-84<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Suzuki has included classic rhythm samples of the OM-84 in the new Omnichord OM-108. By default, the OM-108 starts up in <em>Normal <\/em>mode. However, you can switch to <em>Classic <\/em>mode, which allows you to use the OM-84 notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Turn off the OM-108.<\/li><li>Press and hold the <strong>PATTERN <\/strong>(<strong>swing\/waltz<\/strong>)button, then press the <strong>Power<\/strong> button.<\/li><li>Once the <strong>PATTERN <\/strong>(<strong>swing\/waltz<\/strong>)LED starts flashing, let go of the button.
