The Tracker+ uses a 5V, 1A-rated supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Register-the-Tracker-Plus\">Register the Tracker+<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While taking out new gear and starting playing is always exciting, you must first register the Tracker+ with Polyend. Upon registration, you will gain access to additional features and exclusive additional instruments with which to work!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Sign in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/polyend.com\/my-account\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Polyend account<\/a>. If you don\u2019t have an account, fill out the registration form at the bottom of the page. They match up with what you see on the display, as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to change a specific parameter (i.e., note, instrument, or FX), just press the associated button to select it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Note<\/strong> <em>(green)<\/em>: the programmed note<\/li><li><strong>Instrument<\/strong> <em>(yellow)<\/em>: the selected instrument for that step<\/li><li><strong>FX <\/strong><em>(pink and blue)<\/em>: the current effect you load on that step<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4>Grid pads<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Polyend Tracker+ has 48 multifunctional grid pads. These pads serve different purposes depending on what you\u2019re doing. For example, they can be used for note entry or as a QWERTY keyboard, depending on your menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Screen buttons<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The eight screen buttons are located beneath the screen and correlate with the function above them on the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Function<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Function buttons are self-explanatory. These are for navigation and general actions like deleting, and copy and pasting. Use a 1\/8-inch splitter cable to connect to two speakers. The output jack also serves as a headphone out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Line In<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Line In jack is a standard 1\/8-inch TRS jack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>MIDI In &amp; Out<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Tracker+ uses <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/search?s=1%2F8&quot;+to+midi&amp;Category=Accessories&amp;Category=Cables#search-header\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1\/8-inch to MIDI cables<\/a> to connect external MIDI gear.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Micro SD<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Polyend Tracker+ comes with a 16GB Micro SD card for storage. You can use other Micro SD cards, so long as they&#8217;re formatted to FAT32. It comes with a Micro SD to USB adapter for file transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Reset<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you encounter issues with your Tracker+, insert a pin to press the <strong>Reset <\/strong>button to force a recovery reset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>USB<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Polyend Tracker+ can be connected to your computer for both power and data transfer. The unit can also use a portable power bank, as long as it meets the power requirements. Power banks with smart features are not recommended, as you will run into glitches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"How-to-Create-a-Project-on-the-Tracker+\">How to Create a Project on the Tracker+<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re new to creating music using a tracker, it may feel a little overwhelming at first. However, Polyend makes it easy even for a beginner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Press <strong>File<\/strong> and choose <strong>New Project. <\/strong>A blank project, titled <em>NewProject,<\/em> will be created.&nbsp;<ul><li>If you want to load an existing project, press <strong>File<\/strong>, then choose <strong>Open<\/strong>. You can then use the jog wheel or the <strong>Up <\/strong>and <strong>Down <\/strong>arrows to select the project you wish to load.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Press <strong>Pattern <\/strong>to enter the <strong>Pattern <\/strong>screen, which is the main screen you\u2019ll be working with.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Adding-Custom-Samples\">Adding Custom Samples<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can easily transfer custom samples to your Polyend Tracker+ via USB \u2014 no SD card transfer is necessary! The Tracker+ is also bus powered, so there\u2019s no need to connect it to an external power source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To access the Tracker+ SD card storage, you must first enable USB Mass Storage. Please note that you must use a USB cable capable of data transfer and providing power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Connect the Tracker+ to your computer, press the <strong>Config <\/strong>button, and navigate to <strong><em>USB<\/em><\/strong>.<\/li><li>Highlight the middle pane, navigate to <em>Storage<\/em>, and press <strong>Enter<\/strong>. The Tracker+ will now enter USB Storage Mode.<\/li><li>On your computer, locate the samples you wish to add. Transfer them to the <em>Samples<\/em><strong> <\/strong>folder.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/how-to-safely-eject-an-external-hard-drive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Safely eject<\/a> the Tracker+ from your computer.<\/li><li>Press <strong>Sample Loader<\/strong>, then navigate to <em>Samples<\/em>. You can now add your custom samples as an available instrument.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Creating-Patterns-on-the-Tracker-Plus\">Creating Patterns on the Tracker+<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can create a pattern one of two ways: step-by-step or live. Step recording is excellent when you want precise rhythm. Live recording is preferred if you\u2019re recording melodies, chords, or bass lines. Don\u2019t worry, though: any mistakes you make during recording can be easily adjusted afterward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Press and hold one of the first three buttons to change the following:<ul><li><strong>Pattern<\/strong>: pattern number. A project can contain up to 255 patterns.<\/li><li><strong>Length<\/strong>: pattern length. A pattern can be up to 128 steps.<\/li><li><strong>Step Jump<\/strong>: This option skips the number of steps set before a new one is added. For example, if the Step Jump is set to 4, it will skip three steps before the next note is entered.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Press and hold <strong>Instrument<\/strong> to select the instrument, and use the jog wheel to select the synth engine or sample you wish to use.<\/li><li>Press the grid pads to preview the sample or the instrument.<\/li><li>Press and hold the <strong>Note <\/strong>button to view the notes associated with the grid pads.<\/li><li>Start recording <a href=\"#Step-recording\">step-by-step<\/a> or <a href=\"#Live-recording\">live<\/a> (see recording details below).<\/li><li>Press <strong>Record <\/strong>again once you\u2019re finished. Make sure you\u2019re exited out of Record mode when making changes!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Step-recording\">Step recording<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Just press the <strong>Rec <\/strong>button and start entering the notes. Don\u2019t forget to press <strong>Rec <\/strong>again once you\u2019re finished, or else you\u2019ll overwrite your performance!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Live-recording\">Live recording<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Hold <strong>Shift <\/strong>and <strong>Rec<\/strong>, then press the channels you want to arm. Once they\u2019re armed, press and hold <strong>Rec <\/strong>and <strong>Play <\/strong>to begin recording. Be sure to turn on <em>Pre-Roll <\/em>to give yourself additional time to prepare to record!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Press <strong>Config<\/strong>, use the jog wheel to navigate to <em>Metronome<\/em>, and press the <strong>Right arrow<\/strong> button to open the metronome menu.<\/li><li>Highlight <em>Pre-Roll<\/em>, press <strong>Enter<\/strong>, and use the jog wheel to turn it on or off.<\/li><li>Press <strong>Apply <\/strong>to confirm the change.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Change-Track-and-Pattern-Name\">Change Track and Pattern Name<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Like DAW software, it\u2019s always good practice to name your tracks. This makes it easier to see what instrument is loaded onto what track. Naming a track (and patterns) couldn\u2019t be easier!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Highlight the track (or choose the pattern) you want to rename.<\/li><li>Press the <strong>More <\/strong>button twice, then select <strong>Pattern Name <\/strong>or <strong>Track Name<\/strong>.
