Just connect your gear to the hardware inputs, adjust the gain, and update the routing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Adjust the Gain<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f3f2f1\"><strong>TIP:&nbsp;<\/strong>Press the&nbsp;<strong>MULTI SELECT&nbsp;<\/strong>button on the touchscreen to select multiple channels. This is particularly handy when adjusting a group of inputs (<em>e.g.<\/em>, drum mics, guitars).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a few different ways you can adjust the gain. The fastest way is using the Gain Assistant feature, which you can access on the Config page. This will automatically detect all input gain and set it accordingly. You can then enable Auto-Gain, which will adjust the input signal in real time to prevent peaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you prefer manual adjustment, then you can also manually adjust the gain by pressing the touchscreen\u2019s gain icon and then using the encoder. Alternatively, press the&nbsp;<strong>Processing<\/strong>&nbsp;button then press the&nbsp;<strong>Fader&nbsp;<\/strong>tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Phantom Power<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>For a condenser microphone, press the&nbsp;<strong>CONFIG&nbsp;<\/strong>button, select the channel, and press and hold&nbsp;<strong>+48V<\/strong>&nbsp;on the touchscreen. Remember to turn on phantom power&nbsp;<em>after&nbsp;<\/em>connecting the microphone and turn it off&nbsp;<em>before&nbsp;<\/em>disconnecting it. This can be taxing on computers, so we recommend lowering the sample rate if you are experiencing performance issues. Press the&nbsp;<strong>CONFIG<\/strong>&nbsp;button, tap the&nbsp;<strong>USB<\/strong>&nbsp;tab, and then use the&nbsp;<em>Sample Rate&nbsp;<\/em>drop-down to switch the sample rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use your Allen &amp; Heath CQ mixer as an audio interface. It is class compliant on Mac, meaning no additional driver software is required. However, if you\u2019re a Windows PC user, then you must download and install its dedicated driver before connecting it to your computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can download the official driver from the mixer\u2019s support page:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.allen-heath.com\/hardware\/cq\/cq-12t\/resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>CQ-12T<\/strong><\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.allen-heath.com\/hardware\/cq\/cq-18t\/resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>CQ-18T<\/strong><\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.allen-heath.com\/hardware\/cq\/cq-20b\/resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>CQ-20B<\/strong><\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Connecting-the-CQ-Mixer-to-a-Network\">Connecting the CQ Mixer to a Network<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#fff5c7\"><strong>IMPORTANT:&nbsp;<\/strong>As of this writing (January 2024), the app is incompatible with macOS Sonoma. Check back frequently as they are actively updating the app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CQ-Mixpad and CQ4You apps let you connect to the CQ mixer remotely. The CQ-Mixpad app allows complete remote control of the mixer. What\u2019s great is that you can connect up to two remote devices simultaneously, unlike other digital mixers that only let you connect to one. This makes it useful if you need control at the front of house and onstage at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CQ4You app is a personal monitor mix app where you can customize individual headphone mixes. Using this app, you can pair up to six devices simultaneously, making it perfect for any band!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f3f2f1\"><strong>NOTE: <\/strong>The CQ4You app is currently not available on PC and Mac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Download the CQ-Mixpad app on the <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/search?q=cq+mixpad&amp;c=apps&amp;hl=en_US&amp;gl=US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google Play Store<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/cq-mixpad\/id1510568243\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">App Store<\/a>. If you own a CQ-18T or CQ-20B, then you can also connect your device via Wi-Fi!
