In this guide, we will show you how to register, set up, and use it for the first time. Follow the sections below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li><strong><a href=\"#Register-the-SSL-UF1\">Register the SSL UF1<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#Download-and-Install-SSL-360\">Download and Install SSL 360<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#SSL-UF1-Setup-and-Connections\">SSL UF1 Setup and Connections<\/a><\/strong><ul><li><strong><a href=\"#UF1-Hardware-Connections\">UF1 Hardware Connections<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#SSL-360-Configuration\">SSL 360 Configuration<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Register-the-SSL-UF1\">Register the SSL UF1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you begin, you must register the UF1 with SSL. Once you register your UF1, you\u2019ll gain access to the SSL 360 software required to use your UF1 within your DAW. Keep your Sweetwater invoice handy; you\u2019ll need some information from it to complete the registration process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Log into your <a href=\"https:\/\/account.solidstatelogic.com\/login\">SSL account<\/a>. Doing so will cause your device to function incorrectly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SSL 360 software is necessary for the UF1 to function correctly. Not only that, but it\u2019s where you\u2019ll download updated versions of the software and firmware. If you have multiple SSL hardware controllers (e.g., UF8 or UC1) and link them together, you can identify and rearrange them the way you want within this software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solidstatelogic.com\/support-page\/downloads\">SSL support download page<\/a>.<\/li><li>Select the UF1 from the dropdown box. Download and install the SSL 360 installer for your OS.<\/li><li>Navigate to your <em>Downloads <\/em>folder, launch the installer, and follow the on-screen instructions.<\/li><li><strong>PC<\/strong>: Double-click the .<strong>exe<\/strong> file and follow the on-screen instructions.<\/li><li><strong>Mac<\/strong>: Double-click the .<strong>dmg<\/strong> file. After you install the SSL 360 software, you just need to connect it to your computer and configure it for operation inside your DAW(s). We\u2019ll cover the basics to get you up and running, but check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/eu1.download.solidstatelogic.com\/UF1\/SSL%20UF1%20User%20Guide_Rev1.0.pdf\">SSL UF1 User Guide<\/a> for in-depth information!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"UF1-Hardware-Connections\"><strong>UF1 Hardware Connections<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The UF1 connection is easy, as it\u2019s a plug-and-play device. Simply connect the UF1 directly to your computer via the USB-C connection, and you\u2019re all set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>macOS users<\/strong>: When you connect it to your computer for the first time, the macOS Keyboard Setup Assistant will appear. When you see this, set the keyboard type (ISO, ANSI, JIS), then click <strong>Done<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Connecting the UF1 to an SSL UF8 and UC1<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The SSL UF1 can be used not only as a standalone DAW controller, but also as an extension to an SSL UF8 and UC1! No additional hardware configuration is necessary, either. Just use the USB <strong>THRU <\/strong>port to link them together, and you\u2019re all set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"SSL-360-Configuration\">SSL 360 Configuration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><strong>NOTE: <\/strong>It takes approximately 10\u201315 seconds for the UF1 to be discovered when you launch the SSL 360 software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once your computer detects your UF1, it\u2019s time to launch the SSL 360 software to configure the device to work within your DAW. You can launch the software by double-clicking the SSL 360 icon on your desktop or by pressing the 360 button above the jog wheel on the UF1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you launch the software, the home page is where you\u2019ll view and update your firmware version, rearrange and identify any connected SSL controllers (UF1, UF8, or UC1), and generate error reports that you\u2019ll provide to SSL support if you\u2019re having issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>For initial DAW setup, click the <strong>Gear <\/strong>icon on the left side of the app, then use the dropdown boxes to select your DAW and edit any keyboard shortcut configurations.
