Upon registration, you will gain access to both the software and sound packs included with your triggering system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/sunhou.se\/registration\">Sensory Percussion registration page<\/a> and log into your account. If you don\u2019t have an account, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/sunhou.se\/signup\">create one here<\/a>. When you first create an account, Sunhouse will send you a link for account verification.<\/li><li>Alternatively, scan the QR Code located inside the box.<\/li><li>Once logged in, click <strong>Register a license<\/strong>, then enter the software activation code on the \u2018Start Here\u2019 card.<\/li><li>Once registered, download and install the necessary software.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Setup-and-Connections\">Setup and Connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#ffcfd3\"><strong>IMPORTANT<\/strong>: If connecting a condenser microphone to the Portal interface, turn on Phantom Power (+48v) <strong>after <\/strong>connecting the microphone. If you don\u2019t, you will cause severe damage that will void your warranty!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After you have installed the Sensory Percussion software, it\u2019s time to connect the triggers and interface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Triggers\">Triggers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sensory Percussion triggers aren\u2019t like others, as they utilize a pickup element instead of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/how-do-drum-triggers-work\/#How-Does-a-Drum-Trigger-Work?\">standard piezo pickup<\/a>. This means you can\u2019t just attach the trigger and go. The interface is class-compliant, meaning no additional software is necessary. Do not connect the Portal audio interface to a USB hub, as there won\u2019t be enough power to transfer data to and from your computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Connect the included 1\/8-inch TRS cables from the triggers to the sensor inputs. Secure the cable by pressing it into the clip on the trigger\u2019s side.<\/li><li>Use the two 1\/4-inch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/insync\/combi-jack\/\">combi jacks<\/a> if you are using a microphone, guitars, or other external gear.<\/li><li>Once connected, use the <strong>line\/inst <\/strong>switch to switch to the correct signal.<\/li><li>This only applies to gear that uses 1\/4-inch cables.<\/li><li>Connect the interface to your computer, and you\u2019re all set!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"How-to-Use-the-Sensory-Percussion-Software\">How to Use the Sensory Percussion Software<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that everything is set up and connected, it\u2019s time to start using the software! We\u2019ll break it down into three sections: the initial setup, training of your drums, and navigation of the software itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Initial-Setup\">Initial Setup<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Launch the Sensory Percussion app and enter your account credentials when prompted.<\/li><li>Once logged in, you will be prompted to update the audio settings.<\/li><li>On the next page, update the hardware settings. This is where you will assign your drums to the trigger inputs.<\/li><li>Update the drum settings, including the drum type, size, drumhead material, and name.<\/li><li>We recommend using a conventional naming scheme. This is particularly useful if you plan on using multiple drums! For example, using a DW snare, use <strong>*<em>drum size* <\/em>DW *<em>xxxx series* <\/em>Snare Drum<\/strong>.<\/li><li>After you have set that up, it\u2019s time to train the drums.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"How-to-Train-Your-Drums\">How to Train Your Drums<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Training your drums ensures you get the most accurate and consistent results possible. Although you can train your drums any time, it\u2019s much easier to do it during the initial setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two training methods: <strong>Guided <\/strong>and <strong>Manual<\/strong>. If this is your first time using Sensory Percussion products, or you just want to get up and running, going through the <strong>Guided <\/strong>method is recommended. A <strong>Zone <\/strong>is a particular drum part, like the center or edge. A <strong>Level<\/strong> is a specific <em>part <\/em>of the Zone. For example, there is also the Rimshot Center and Rimshot Edge within the Edge zone. Sensory Percussion already includes some amazing preset kits, but you can easily create one from scratch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>&nbsp;On the top right of the software, click <strong>Add New<\/strong>.
