By themselves, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/RefaceCS--yamaha-reface-cs-virtual-analog-synth-with-mini-keys\">Yamaha reface CS virtual analog synthesizer<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/RefaceYC--yamaha-reface-yc-combo-organ-with-mini-keys\">Yamaha reface YC combo organ<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/RefaceCP--yamaha-reface-cp-electric-piano-synthesizer\">Yamaha reface CP electric piano<\/a> have no means of storing or retrieving presets and no visual editor. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/RefaceDX--yamaha-reface-dx-fm-synth-with-mini-keys\">Yamaha reface DX FM synthesizer<\/a> can store presets internally, but it also benefits from Soundmondo, which provides an easy-to-use editor for all four reface models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you create an account and profile on the Soundmondo website, you can create, store and retrieve your private presets and set lists for all reface keyboards. Because Soundmondo is also a \u201csocial sound-sharing community,\u201d you can share your presets with other users and access libraries of thousands of other users\u2019 presets sorted by category tags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can load any preset from Soundmondo into your reface. You can then use the front panel controls on your reface to modify any preset and then save it to your Soundmondo profile as your own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soundmondo also supports Yamaha\u2019s bigger siblings and flagship keyboards, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/yamaha-cp\/series\">CP stage pianos<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/yamaha-yc\/series\">YC stage keyboards<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/yamaha-montage\/series\">Montage synthesizers<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/yamaha-modx\/series\">ModX+ synthesizers<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"How-Can-You-Use-Yamaha-Soundmondo?\">How Can You Use Yamaha Soundmondo?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Soundmondo<\/strong> exists in two forms:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>As a web-based app that runs in your browser on Mac or Windows PC. The web-based Soundmondo provides a visual editor for all reface models, which is particularly helpful for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/RefaceDX--yamaha-reface-dx-fm-synth-with-mini-keys\">reface DX<\/a>.<\/li><li>As an <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/soundmondo-us\/id1035365526\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">app for iPhone and iPad<\/a>. The Soundmondo app does not provide the visual editor available in the web-browser version, but it enables you to save presets locally on your device.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Soundmondo-on-Mac-or-Windows-PC\">Soundmondo on Mac or Windows PC<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2023\/02\/Home-Page-Two-scaled-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1010\" height=\"670\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2023\/02\/Home-Page-Two-scaled-1.jpg\" alt=\"Soundmondo Home Page\" class=\"wp-image-1776952\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2023\/02\/Home-Page-Two-scaled-1.jpg 1010w, https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2023\/02\/Home-Page-Two-scaled-1-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2023\/02\/Home-Page-Two-scaled-1-768x509.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1010px) 100vw, 1010px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>The Soundmondo home page in Google Chrome<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Soundmondo<\/strong> is a cloud-based web app that you access through a web browser that supports the <a href=\"https:\/\/midi.org\/about-web-midi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Web MIDI<\/a> standard. These include Google Chrome, FireFox, Opera and Microsoft Edge. (Apple Safari does not support Web MIDI.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To use your Yamaha keyboard with your Mac or Windows PC:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/usa.yamaha.com\/support\/updates\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Yamaha Firmware\/Software Updates page<\/a>. Search on your instrument name.<\/li><li>Download and install the USB-MIDI Driver for your version of macOS or Windows. Follow the instructions with the download.<\/li><li>Connect a USB cable from your keyboard to your computer.<\/li><li>Launch Google Chrome or another Web MIDI-compatible browser and go to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/soundmondo.yamahasynth.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/soundmondo.yamahasynth.com\/<\/a>. Bookmark that link.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The first time you go to the website with your keyboard connected, your browser may prompt you with a message saying, \u201csoundmondo.yamahasynth.com wants to use your MIDI devices.\u201d Click&nbsp;<strong>Allow<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the Soundmondo home page, click the <strong>Sign In<\/strong> button. Create a user account. From the home page, click the <strong>gear icon<\/strong> at the far right of the top bar to open your user profile settings. If you wish to participate in the \u201csocial sound-sharing community\u201d and publish your presets to share them with other users, you can upload a profile picture and provide links to your pages on SoundCloud, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. But you don\u2019t need to fill any of this out to use Soundmondo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Downloading,-modifying,-and-saving-presets-in-Soundmondo\">Downloading, modifying, and saving presets in Soundmondo<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Click <strong>Browse<\/strong> next to the Soundmondo logo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click the <strong>Sync<\/strong> button. The red <strong>Disconnected<\/strong> light will change to the green <strong>Connected<\/strong> light. However, the physical sliders and switches on your keyboard\u2019s hardware will not match those values. If you simply play the keyboard or adjust the volume or octave setting, nothing will change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On your reface keyboard\u2019s controls, if you move any slider or change the position of any switch, you will see the corresponding slider or switch move in the display in the Soundmondo browser window. By moving a slider, you are, in effect, creating a new preset, so the browser window displays the settings with a blank <strong>Voice Title<\/strong> and <strong>Voice Description<\/strong>. You can save the preset by giving the preset a new title and description, tags, and values for other fields. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Under <strong>Accessibility<\/strong>, choose <strong>Public<\/strong> or <strong>Private<\/strong>, and click <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Go back to the gear icon to go back to your user profile. At the bottom, you will see the list of <strong>Sounds<\/strong> (presets) that you have saved. You can drag and drop to reorganize them. You can also create <strong>Set Lists<\/strong> and drag and drop <strong>Sounds<\/strong> into them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When playing your reface, you can use the Soundmondo Set List to recall presets one at a time. Connect a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/c1224--USB_Cables?sb=popular&amp;params=eyJmYWNldCI6eyJDb25uZWN0b3IgMiI6WyJVU0IzLUIiLCJVU0ItQiJdfX0\">USB-B to USB-A cable<\/a> to your reface keyboard and connect the other end of the USB cable to the Lightning Camera Adapter. You will be prompted to save this as a Voice.
