The Vocaster connections are straightforward, so we\u2019ll go through all the ways you can set up your Vocaster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Connect your Vocaster to a computer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    After registering your interface and installing its software and drivers, it\u2019s time to connect the Vocaster. Vocaster interfaces have a USB-C port and operate on the USB 2.0 protocol for maximum compatibility. What\u2019s better is that it\u2019s bus powered, meaning no additional external power source is necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Windows PC users must download and install the Focusrite drivers before <\/em>connecting the Vocaster to a computer. If you connect the interface to your computer before installing the driver, a generic Windows driver will be installed, which is often unreliable, particularly with recording software.     Update your computer sound settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    When the Vocaster is connected to your computer, it must be set as the main recording and playback device. You\u2019ll need to go to the computer\u2019s sound settings to select your Vocaster as a Mac or PC audio device. These settings will apply to most apps and features, but most audio software also has its own audio settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    That means your DAW or other related audio software needs to know what the audio device is and which input and output streams there are. To test audio playback with your new Scarlett, update the computer\u2019s sound settings and then play sound from a web browser or a music streaming service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    macOS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    1. From the Menu Bar, click the Apple <\/strong>icon and select System Preferences.<\/strong><\/li>
    2. Click Sound<\/strong>.<\/li>
    3. Under the Output tab, select your audio device.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Windows PC<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
      1. From your Windows taskbar, right-click the sound icon and select Playback devices.<\/li>
      2. Select your audio interface and then click Set Default<\/strong>.<\/li>
      3. Click the Recording <\/strong>tab, select the interface, then click Set Default<\/strong>.<\/li>
      4. Click OK <\/strong>to close the menu.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        My Vocaster isn’t showing up!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

        If the Vocaster isn\u2019t showing up as an audio device or if the computer LED on your Vocaster is red, there\u2019s a connection issue. If this is the case, disconnect and reconnect it to your computer. If the problem persists, try a different USB port or different USB cable.
