There may be a time when you will need to perform a factory reset on your Roland JD-08. In this article, we will show you how to back up your data, perform a factory reset on the JD-08, and then restore your data. Follow the sections below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Backing up the JD-08<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    You can back up tones, patterns, and system settings stored on the JD-08 to your computer. That way if you ever encounter an issue with your settings, you can then restore this backup data to the JD-08.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Connect your computer to the JD-08 with a USB cable.\u00a0<\/li>
    2. While holding down the MENU <\/strong>button, turn on the power.<\/li>
    3. The JD-08 operates in USB mass storage mode. Your computer will recognize the JD-08 as an external storage device.\u00a0
      1. It takes roughly 20 seconds for the connection to be recognized.<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
      2. Open the \u201cBACKUP<\/strong>\u201d folder. The backup file appears.<\/li>
      3. Drag and drop the backup file to your computer.<\/li>

            Performing a factory reset on the JD-08<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

            IMPORTANT<\/strong>: Performing a factory reset will reset any user settings and erase any user presets and sequences. Be sure to back up the JD-08 if you need to keep any of your user settings or presets!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            If you would like to retrieve all the factory presets and\/or default settings of the JD-08, a factory reset is an easy way to do so.\u00a0Follow these steps to perform a factory reset on the JD-08:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            1. Turn off the power switch on the JD-08.<\/li>
            2. Turn on the power while holding down the PART B <\/strong>button. The PAGE\/TIE<\/strong> button will blink. To cancel the factory reset, turn off the power.<\/li>
            3. Press the PAGE\/TIE <\/strong>button, and initialization will begin. Once the JD-08 is restored to factory default settings, \u201cdonE\u201d<\/strong> appears on the display.<\/li>
            4. Turn the JD-08\u2019s power off and then on again. It is now fully restored to the original factory settings.

              Restoring JD-08 data<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

              You can use the backup data you stored on your computer to restore the settings of the JD-08.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              1. Connect your computer to the JD-08 with a USB cable.<\/li>
              2. While holding down the MENU <\/strong>button, turn on the power. It takes around 20 seconds for the connection to be recognized.<\/li>
              3. The JD-08 operates in USB mass storage mode and is recognized as an external storage device by your computer.          <\/li>
              4. Open the JD-08 on your computer, then delete the BACKUP <\/strong>folder.<\/li>
              5. Copy the backup file you backed up on your computer to the RESTORE <\/strong>folder on the JD-08.<\/li>
