Upon registration of your unit, you\u2019ll receive an extended three-year warranty and product support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Log into your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elektron.se\/customer\/login\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Elektron account<\/a>. If you don\u2019t have an account yet, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elektron.se\/customer\/create\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">create one here<\/a>.<\/li><li>Click the <strong>person <\/strong>icon at the top right of the page, then select <strong>My Registered Machines<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Enter the <em>Serial Number <\/em>(located on the bottom of the Syntakt), then click <strong>Register<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Download-and-install-software\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Download and install software<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once registered, you&#8217;ll next want to download and install the Elektron Overbridge and Elektron Transfer apps. You&#8217;ll need the Elektron Transfer app to transfer sounds to and from your Syntakt, as well as performing firmware updates. The USB connection is great in that it not only sends MIDI, but it can also send audio! This makes it a perfect workaround if you don\u2019t have an audio interface on hand. You can access all settings by pressing the <strong>GEAR <\/strong>icon, using the <strong>DATA <\/strong>knob to highlight that setting, then pressing the <strong>YES <\/strong>button. Pressing the <strong>NO <\/strong>button will take you back to the previous menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>You can access the USB settings within the <strong>SYSTEM <\/strong>menu.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><a href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"button flat s blue\">Return to top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Selecting-and-editing-sounds\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Selecting and editing sounds<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that you\u2019ve registered the Syntakt, let\u2019s go over how to select and create sounds. These are the building blocks of the Syntakt, so once you know how to do this, you can create some patterns! Selecting sounds couldn\u2019t be easier, either.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All you need to do is press the track button you want to load <em>(1\u201312)<\/em>, hold the red <strong>FUNC <\/strong>button, then use the <strong>DATA<\/strong> wheel to select the sound. After that, press <strong>YES <\/strong>to load the sound. Alternatively, follow the steps below to select a sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Press and hold the <strong>TRK <\/strong>button (1\u201316) for the sample you want to replace.<\/li><li>The <em>TRK <\/em>number on the display should reflect that channel selection.<\/li><li>Hold the <strong>FUNC <\/strong>button and press the <strong>\u2026 (Sound)<\/strong> button to access the track\u2019s sound settings.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\" start=\"3\"><li>Highlight <strong>Sound Browser<\/strong>, press the <strong>YES <\/strong>button, use the <strong>Level\/Data <\/strong>knob (or <strong>UP <\/strong>and <strong>DOWN <\/strong>buttons) to select the sample you want to load, then press the <strong>YES <\/strong>button to load the sample.<\/li><li>Press the <strong>NO <\/strong>button to exit to the main page.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Editing-sounds\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Editing sounds<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have your samples loaded, you can then edit the parameters of the tracks, such as delay, LFO, and amplitude. Elektron has made this very easy, meaning you can spend less time menu diving and more time creating music!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like selecting a sound, editing couldn\u2019t be easier. Select the track <em>(1\u201312), <\/em>then use the<strong> TRIG, SYN, FLTR, AMP,<\/strong> and<strong> LFO buttons <\/strong>to edit sounds. Be sure to use the red <strong>FUNC <\/strong>buttonto access the other effects, too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><a href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"button flat s blue\">Return to top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Create-and-edit-patterns\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Create and edit patterns<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that you have the perfect set of samples loaded, it\u2019s time to create some patterns! There are two ways you can record patterns: step or live. When you step record, you will enter a pattern one sample and one step at a time. This is perfect for patterns that require more complexity <em>(16th notes, swing, etc.)<\/em>. Live recording is straightforward and is perfect for finger drumming.
