After registering the unit, you can access Roland product support, an extended warranty, training videos, and more. Follow the steps below to register the unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Scan the QR code on the orange card that came in the box or go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roland.com\/backstage\/lp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.roland.com\/start<\/a>.<\/li><li>Scroll down to the sign-in section.<\/li><li>Sign into your Roland Backstage account. If you don\u2019t have one yet, select the <strong>New to Roland?<\/strong> tab.<\/li><li>If you scan the orange card\u2019s QR code, the serial number field should be auto-filled. If you are running Windows 10 or Windows 11, the driver is automatically installed when you plug your JX-08 to your computer via USB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow the steps below to install the driver on your Mac computer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Download the latest driver for your macOS version from Roland\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roland.com\/global\/products\/jx-08\/downloads\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JX-08 product downloads<\/a>.<\/li><li>Open the downloaded file and run the installer.<\/li><li>Follow the instructions on the screen to proceed with the installation.<\/li><li>Once the installation is complete, restart the computer.<\/li><li>Once the computer restarts, plug the JX-08 into the computer with a USB cable.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><a href=\"#Getting-started\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"button flat s blue\">Return to top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Check-the-System-Version\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh2 swheader\">Check the System Version<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After registering your device, you\u2019ll want to check the system version and update the firmware, if necessary. Before updating the firmware, check if you are already on the latest system version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Power off the JX-08.<\/li><li>Hold down <strong>1<\/strong> while powering on the JX-08.<\/li><li>Keep holding down<strong> 1<\/strong> for about 3 seconds, then let go of <strong>1<\/strong>.<ol><li>The version information is displayed on the screen.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Power off the JX-08.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Update-the-System-Program-firmware\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Update the System Program (firmware)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#fff5c7\"><strong>IMPORTANT<\/strong>: The firmware update process can take a couple minutes. Never turn off the power while the update is in progress! Each pulse into this jack causes the sequencer and arpeggiator to advance one step.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Rear\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Rear<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"468\" height=\"72\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2022\/03\/JX08-back-connections.jpg\" alt=\"JX08 rear connections\" class=\"wp-image-1773064\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2022\/03\/JX08-back-connections.jpg 468w, https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2022\/03\/JX08-back-connections-300x46.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>POWER<\/strong>: Power switch to turn the JX-08 on or off.<\/li><li><strong>USB-C:<\/strong> The USB-C connection can pass MIDI and audio in and out to a computer or iOS device. The JX-08 can also be powered via the USB-C port from a device that can provide at least 500 mA of current.<\/li><li><strong>VOLUME<\/strong>: Master volume level control.<\/li><li><strong>PHONES<\/strong>: Stereo \u215b-inch output to connect headphones<\/li><li><strong>OUTPUT<\/strong>: Stereo \u215b-inch output that will connect to a line-level input. Use a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/RCC53528V2--roland-rcc-5-3528v2-insert-cable-3.5mm-trs-male-to-dual-1-4-inch-ts-male-5-foot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> \u215b-inch TRS to dual TS cable<\/a> to connect into the mono inputs of your audio interface\/mixer.<\/li><li><strong>MIX IN<\/strong>: Stereo \u215b-inch input to connect a line-level device.
