{"id":1772969,"date":"2022-03-22T13:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-22T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/?post_type=articles&#038;p=1772969"},"modified":"2022-04-06T16:38:20","modified_gmt":"2022-04-06T16:38:20","slug":"line-6-dl4-mkii-sounds-and-presets","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/line-6-dl4-mkii-sounds-and-presets\/","title":{"rendered":"Line 6 DL4 MkII \u2013 Sounds and Presets"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 id=\"Line-6-DL4-MkII-Effects-and-Presets\">Line 6 DL4 MkII Effects and Presets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"MkII-Delays-List-\">MkII Delays List&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To choose one of the MkII delays as your active delay model, toggle the ALT\/LEGACY button so that it is not lit, then turn the Selector knob to any of the delay model names that appear in white text.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Legacy-Delays-List-\">Legacy Delays List&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To choose one of the Legacy delays as your active delay model, toggle the ALT\/LEGACY button so that it is lit green, then turn the Selector knob to the desired delay model name that appears in green text.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Secret-Reverbs-List-and-Controls-\">Secret Reverbs List and Controls&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>New to the DL4 lMkII, you can now use any reverb along with your currently active MkII or Legacy delay model. To select a reverb, press and hold the ALT\/LEGACY button while turning the Selector knob to the position that corresponds to the desired model. To access the reverbs\u2019 parameters, just press and hold the ALT\/LEGACY button while turning the knobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Line 6 | DL4 MkII | Part Two - Secret Functions\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/r4rKBfXZuMo?wmode=transparent&amp;rel=0&amp;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2022\/03\/Line-6-DL4-MkII-Settings.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"1048\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2022\/03\/Line-6-DL4-MkII-Settings.jpg\" alt=\"Line 6 DL4 MkII Settings\" class=\"wp-image-1772995\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2022\/03\/Line-6-DL4-MkII-Settings.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2022\/03\/Line-6-DL4-MkII-Settings-229x300.jpg 229w, https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2022\/03\/Line-6-DL4-MkII-Settings-782x1024.jpg 782w, https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2022\/03\/Line-6-DL4-MkII-Settings-768x1006.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Line-6-DL4-MkII-MIDI-Settings\">Line 6 DL4 MkII MIDI Settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Connect the MIDI output of your external MIDI controller device to the DL4 MkII MIDI IN, and DL4 MkII will respond to MIDI Program Change (PC), Note On, MIDI CC, and MIDI Clock messages, as covered within this chapter.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When connected to your computer, DL4 MkII also receives and transmits the same MIDI messages via USB (with the exception of MIDI Clock messages, which can only be received for sync and routed to MIDI THRU).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Connect DL4 MkII\u2019s MIDI OUT\/THRU to your other MIDI gear (or connect USB to your computer) to optionally pass any incoming MIDI messages \u201cTHRU\u201d to another device or computer app.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><strong>IMPORTANT! DL4 MkII MIDI Transmissions<\/strong><br>DL4 MkII does not transmit MIDI messages for any of its own actions, but will pass incoming MIDI out via its MIDI OUT\/THRU and USB MIDI ports. All MIDI control is global, meaning, all commands listed in this chapter will control their respective DL4 MkII functions regardless of the currently loaded preset.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Using-MIDI-Clock-for-Tempo-Sync-\">Using MIDI Clock for Tempo Sync&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>DL4 MkII can receive MIDI Clock via its MIDI IN, as well as via USB MIDI, to allow you to sync the tempo from other effects devices. Once DL4 MkII receives the MIDI Clock \u201cstart\u201d command, you\u2019ll see DL4 MkII\u2019s TAP switch LED change to flashing blue to indicate it is actively following the received MIDI Clock tempo rate. Use the Global Settings to modify either &#8220;Receive MIDI Clock&#8221; or \u201cMIDI THRU\u201d settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>Off<\/strong> &#8211; DL4 MkII ignores MIDI Clock messages received.* The tempo can be set manually by tapping on the TAP footswitch.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>On<\/strong> &#8211; DL4 MkII syncs to incoming MIDI Clock messages. While set to On, presses<br>of the TAP footswitch are ignored.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Auto<\/strong> &#8211; DL4 MkII syncs to incoming MIDI Clock messages. The TAP switch\u2019s LED flashes blue once MIDI Clock sync is established. While set to Auto, tempo can optionally be set manually by tapping on the TAP footswitch.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>Accessing all 128 Presets&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Use MIDI Program Change (PC) messages to access any of the 128 preset locations on demand. Configure your MIDI controller to send PC messages as shown in the following table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th><meta charset=\"utf-8\">Message<\/th><th><meta charset=\"utf-8\">Function<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>PC 000&nbsp;<\/strong><\/td><td>Preset A&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>PC 001&nbsp;<\/strong><\/td><td>Preset B&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>PC 002&nbsp;<\/strong><\/td><td>Preset C&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>PC 003&nbsp;<\/strong><\/td><td>Preset D&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>PC 004&nbsp;<\/strong><\/td><td>Preset E&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>PC 005&nbsp;<\/strong><\/td><td>Preset F&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>PC 006 ~ 127&nbsp;<\/strong><\/td><td>Presets 7 ~128&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><br><\/td><td>IMPORTANT!
