Included with your amplifier is the Catalyst Pilot\u2019s Guide, which can also be downloaded from Line 6\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/line6.com\/support\/manuals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Manuals page<\/a>. The Pilot\u2019s Guide has everything you need to access all the sounds and effects from your new Catalyst combo amplifier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Connect your guitar to the amp, and you\u2019re ready to make sounds in manual mode. You can also save your settings as a recallable preset or sample Catalyst\u2019s built-in effects. Each Catalyst amp has six banks of presets, and each bank has two selectable channels: A and B. Tuning = Mute<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the built-in tuner is engaged, Catalyst\u2019s speaker, direct output, and headphones connection are <strong>all <\/strong>muted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Change-Presets\">Change Presets<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Press the desired CHANNEL button (A, B, or MANUAL) at any time to return to that amp channel.<\/li><li>Turn the SELECT knob to cycle through the Amp Voicings.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Save-a-Preset\">Save a Preset<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>After making any changes to a preset, simply press and hold CHANNEL A or B to store your edited settings for the preset.<\/li><li>Note that after holding the button for approximately two seconds, the front panel channel LEDs will blink, then turn solid when saving is complete.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Change-Banks\">Change Banks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Press and hold the MANUAL channel button, and use the AMP SELECT encoder to scroll through the six banks of channel selections.<\/li><li>You can save the channel settings for each bank when that bank is selected.<\/li><li>Optionally, use the CATALYST Edit software to save your settings to any of the 12 preset locations.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Amplifier-Types\">Amplifier Types<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Boutique: <\/strong>Inspired by iconic, hand-crafted tones<\/li><li><strong>Chime: <\/strong>Classic chime, only bigger and deeper<\/li><li><strong>Crunch: <\/strong>Crunchy, with a British accent<\/li><li><strong>Dynamic: <\/strong>Highly touch-responsive, mid-gain tone<\/li><li><strong>Hi Gain:<\/strong> Contemporary hi-gain, with extended lows<\/li><li><strong>Clean:<\/strong> Pristine clean, even when cranked<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Other-Features\">Other Features<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Catalyst amplifiers also have features for boosting the gain, a noise gate which mutes when not playing, and even a switchable artificial hum to simulate a real tube circuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Boost<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Noise Gate<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Hum<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><a href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"button flat m blue\">Scroll to top \u2b06<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Effects-and-Advanced-Features\">Effects and Advanced Features<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Built-in Catalyst Effects are easily accessible from Manual Mode. You can also save unique effects settings to presets, which are recalled manually or via the MIDI IN and a MIDI footswitch. In addition to the custom editor, you can also keep your Catalyst amplifier\u2019s built-in software up-to-date with the Line 6 Updater app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important! \u2013 ASIO Driver for Windows<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Catalyst is a class-compliant audio device, so you can just plug it into any Mac and start recording and playing audio. For recording on Windows, however, there\u2019s an ASIO driver that is compatible with most DAWs.
