There are only a few buttons you need to use and there isn\u2019t much in the way of menu diving, so you can spend more time working on your audio and less time figuring out how to adjust a certain setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f3f2f1\"><strong>TIP: <\/strong>Press and hold the first and third buttons to take a screenshot of the current screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The <strong>PLAY\/PAUSE<\/strong> button is straightforward. This allows you to play or pause metering while audio is being played. <\/li><li>The <strong>RESET <\/strong>button will clear the current readings. <\/li><li>The <strong>READINGS <\/strong>button will switch between different types of readings: Radar, Real-Time Analyzer (RTA), and Vectorscope.  <ul><li>Using the encoder knob will adjust the parameters of the selected reading (LUFS, cursor frequency, scale) <\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>LIB <\/strong>will open the preset library. There are nine different preset libraries included with the TC Electronic Clarity M, which are specifically made for different situations, such as CCTV, music mastering, broadcasting, and video.  <ul><li>Every preset is fully editable, and you can then save it as a user preset. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>SYS <\/strong>will open the system menu. This is where you\u2019ll change USB modes, the encoder parameter, display contrast, brightness, and the GPI and GPO options. <\/li><li><strong>EDIT <\/strong>will bring you to the preset window, where you can change the current preset settings. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Main-meter-readouts\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Main meter readouts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Clarity M has three different readouts: Radar, RTA (Real-Time Analyzer), and Vectorscope. You will likely use all three at some point because each displays different characteristics of the audio source. To change between the readouts, press the third button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Radar\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Radar<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Radar meter is best used for measuring loudness of your audio source (measured in <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/insync\/what-is-lufs-and-why-should-i-care\/\" target=\"_blank\">LUFS<\/a>, LKFS, or LU) and gives you a visualization of your audio level relative to the target loudness. What\u2019s great is that the Clarity M allows you to change the amount of time it takes for the radar to complete one cycle. Unlike Radar that measures loudness, the RTA shows you real-time frequency analysis. This is perfect for mixing since it shows you relative levels of different frequencies. So, if your mix doesn\u2019t sound right, use the RTA to pinpoint troublesome frequencies. Use the encoder knob to scroll through and highlight the frequency in question. If you have a stereo mix or two mono tracks that are\npanned center, you will see a straight vertical line. For example, there are presets dedicated strictly to\ntracking, mastering, and even international broadcast! While these\nare all great starting points, you may want to tweak a few parameters\nto optimize it for your workflow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Press <strong>LIB<\/strong> and use the encoder to switch between the preset libraries. <\/li><li>Use the <strong>UP <\/strong>and <strong>DOWN <\/strong>buttons to select the preset you want to load, then press the <strong>RECALL<\/strong> to load the preset. <ul><li>The first five presets are fixed and cannot be overwritten (indicated by a lock icon). <\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Press the third button to switch between RADAR, RTA, and VSCOPE.  <\/li><li>Press <strong>EDIT<\/strong> to enter the preset edit screen. <\/li><li>Use the <strong>UP<\/strong> and <strong>DOWN<\/strong> to select parameters, then use the encoder knob to change the selected setting. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2022\/01\/PRESET-EDIT.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2022\/01\/PRESET-EDIT.png\" alt=\"PRESET EDIT\" class=\"wp-image-1772067\" width=\"400\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2022\/01\/PRESET-EDIT.png 800w, https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2022\/01\/PRESET-EDIT-300x168.png 300w, https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2022\/01\/PRESET-EDIT-768x430.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Editing presets<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Changing-the-display-layout\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Changing the display layout<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While the presets are easy to navigate, everyone has a different workflow, so you may prefer one layout over another. The great thing with the Clarity M is that you can customize the layout however you want. TC Electronic has made it very easy as well.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When\nyou\u2019re in the <strong>Edit\n<\/strong>window,\npress <strong>LAYOUT<\/strong>,\nuse the <strong>UP\n<\/strong>and\n<strong>DOWN\n<\/strong>arrows\nto select the parameter you want in that position, then use the\nencoder knob to place the parameter in that spot. Once you\u2019re happy\nwith the layout, press the <strong>EXIT\n<\/strong>button,\npress the <strong>LIB\n<\/strong>button,\nthen press <strong>STORE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Create-custom-folders\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Create custom folders<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Presets\nare placed in specific folders (Broadcast, Default, Film, Music).\nHowever, you can also create custom folders. This is especially\nuseful if you have custom presets for different genres. For example,\nyou could create one folder for different rock presets, then another\nfolder for different broadcast presets. It\u2019s very easy to create\nthem, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li> Press <strong>SYS<\/strong>, then use the encoder to switch the USB Mode to Disk Drive. <\/li><li> Connect the Clarity M to your computer. The Clarity M will now appear as a storage device. <\/li><li> Within the Clarity M drive, double-click the <strong>Presets <\/strong>folder, create a folder and name it whatever you\u2019d like.
