You can use this application to manage patterns and projects on\nthe unit, to manage and edit samples on the unit, and to edit\nparameters of the SP-404MKII. The application can also import\nprojects, patterns, and samples and export samples and projects. Here\nis what you need to know to get started with the SP-404MKII software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><a href=\"#Download-and-install\"><strong>Download and install<\/strong><\/a><ul><li><a href=\"#Connecting-the-SP-404MKII-to-the-app\"><strong>Connecting the SP-404MKII to the app<\/strong><\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><a href=\"#Using-the-app\"><strong>Using the app<\/strong><\/a><ul><li><a href=\"#Samples-view\"><strong>Samples view<\/strong><\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#Patterns-view\"><strong>Patterns view<\/strong><\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#Settings-view\"><strong>Settings view<\/strong><\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Download-and-install\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Download and install<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol><li> Download and install the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rolandcloud.com\/catalog\/essentials\/roland-cloud-manager\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Roland Cloud Manager<\/a>. <\/li><li> Once installed, open the Roland Cloud Manager application. It will be in the start menu (PC) or in your Applications folder (Mac). <\/li><li> Once opened, it will ask you to sign in. <ul><li>If you have not registered the unit and created a Roland account yet, then click on the Join Roland Cloud button to create an account and follow the instructions as outlined in our <strong>setup guide<\/strong>. In the middle of every view is the\nproject section. This section allows you to load any of the 16\nprojects, import and export projects, and erase the currently loaded\nproject (init).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2021\/11\/SP-404MKII-app-Project-Section.png\" alt=\"SP-404MKII app Project Section\" class=\"wp-image-1771576\" width=\"522\" height=\"260\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2021\/11\/SP-404MKII-app-Project-Section.png 696w, https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2021\/11\/SP-404MKII-app-Project-Section-300x150.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 522px) 100vw, 522px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Samples-view\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Samples view<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nSamples view allows you to manage the samples on your currently\nloaded project. This view will enable you to see all 10 banks of\nsamples at once. You can select a sample by clicking on it in the app\nor by pressing the unit\u2019s pad. You can then edit the selected\nsample with the top section of the Samples view. Here are some other\nhelpful functionalities for the Samples view:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Import<\/strong>: To import a sample from your computer to the unit, simply drag and drop an audio file in a supported format from your computer onto a pad. <ul><li>While the SD card can only import 48k, 16-bit WAV, AIFF, and MP3 files, the app additionally allows you to import FLAC and M4A audio files. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Export<\/strong>: To export a sample from the unit to your computer, click and drag a sample. The trash and export icons will appear to the right of the project section. Drag the sample to the export icon. (Export.png) <\/li><li><strong>Delete<\/strong>: To delete a sample from the project, click and drag a sample. The trash and export icons will appear to the right of the project section. Drag the sample to the trash icon. (Trash Sample.png) <\/li><li><strong>Move<\/strong>: To move a sample, click and drag a sample to the destination pad. <\/li><li><strong>Duplicate<\/strong>: To duplicate a sample, hold <strong>CTRL<\/strong>\/<strong>CMD<\/strong>, then click and drag a sample to the destination pad. <ul><li>When moving or duplicating, if you drag the sample to a pad that already has a sample, a pop-up will appear asking if you would like to overwrite the sample, to swap the samples, or to cancel the operation. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-medium is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2021\/11\/SP-404MKII-app-Samples-View-254x300.png\" alt=\"SP-404MKII app Samples View\" class=\"wp-image-1771577\" width=\"254\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2021\/11\/SP-404MKII-app-Samples-View-254x300.png 254w, https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2021\/11\/SP-404MKII-app-Samples-View.png 701w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 254px) 100vw, 254px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Samples View<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Patterns-view\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Patterns view<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nPatterns view allows you to manage the patterns in the loaded\nproject. The top section of the Patterns view shows you the MIDI\nchannel and note information the SP-404MKII responds to when\ncontrolling it via MIDI or when creating a MIDI file and importing it\nas a pattern. Here are some other helpful functionalities for the\nPatterns view:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Import<\/strong>: To import a pattern from your computer to the unit, simply drag and drop a Type 0 MIDI file from your computer onto a pad. Type 1 MIDI files will not work for this unit. <\/li><li><strong>Delete<\/strong>: To delete a pattern from the project, click and drag a pattern. The trash icon will appear to the right of the project section.
