By registering the interface, you\u2019ll get access to Arturia Software Center,&nbsp; MiniFuse Control Center, and a plethora of free virtual instruments, effects plug-ins, and a free copy of the Ableton Live Lite DAW.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arturia.com\/login#account\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Arturia account<\/a>. ASC is the application you\u2019ll need to install your free software, and MiniFuse Control is the interface\u2019s standalone software, which is where you\u2019ll change the sample rate, update the firmware, and if you\u2019re a Windows PC user, change the ASIO preferences.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>On your account page, click <strong>My Products<\/strong>, locate your MiniFuse, click <strong>More Info<\/strong>, then click <strong>Access Resources<\/strong>. Alternatively, you can go to Arturia\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arturia.com\/support\/downloads&amp;manuals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Download &amp; Manuals<\/a> page.<\/li><li>Once you\u2019ve downloaded the apps, open your Downloads folder, double-click the .<strong>exe<\/strong> file (PC) or .<strong>pkg<\/strong> file (Mac) installer file, and follow the on-screen instructions.<\/li><li>Launch ASC, enter your login credentials, then click <strong>Install<\/strong> next to the virtual instruments and effects plug-ins you want to install.<ul><li>Click your name at the top of ASC, select <strong>Preferences<\/strong>, then choose <strong>Folders<\/strong> to select the location you want your virtual instruments and plug-ins to be installed to.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Installing-Ableton-Live-Lite\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Installing Ableton Live Lite<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>After registering your device, Arturia will deposit a license for Ableton Live Lite into your account. Firmware updates are performed through MiniFuse Control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Connect the interface to your computer and open MiniFuse Control.&nbsp;<\/li><li>If your computer is connected to the internet, MFC will automatically check for firmware updates every time you launch the application.<ul><li>You can manually check for the update by clicking the <strong>gear <\/strong>icon on the upper right of the MFC window.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>If it is connected to the internet and there is an update available, click <strong>Upgrade To Latest<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Updating-the-firmware-offline\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Updating the firmware offline<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>If you don\u2019t have an internet connection, you\u2019ll need to go to a computer that does, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arturia.com\/support\/downloads&amp;manuals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">download the latest firmware file<\/a>,<\/li><li>Transfer it to your computer, launch MFC, then click the <strong>gear<\/strong> icon.<\/li><li>Click <strong>Upgrade from File<\/strong>, navigate to the directory where you transferred the firmware file, then upload it to complete the update.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Setup-and-connections\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Setup and connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After everything is taken care of, it\u2019s time to get recording! Connecting your gear to the MiniFuse is straightforward, so follow these steps to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Turn the volume knob all the way down, then connect your speakers.<\/li><li>If you have headphones connected, turn its volume knob all the way down, as well.<\/li><li>Connect the USB cable from the interface to your computer, then power it on.<\/li><li>Navigate to your OS sound settings and set it as the default input and output device.<ul><li><strong>PC<\/strong>: Right-click the <strong>Speaker <\/strong>icon on the Windows taskbar, select <strong>Sounds<\/strong>, then click the <strong>Playback <\/strong>tab. Locate and select the interface, click <strong>Set Default<\/strong>, then click <strong>OK <\/strong>to close the menu. Do the same in the Recording tab.<\/li><li><strong>Mac<\/strong>: Click the <strong>Apple <\/strong>icon from the Menu Bar and select System Preferences. Click <strong>Sound<\/strong>, then select the MiniFuse under the Input and Output tabs.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>If applicable, connect your headphones to the jack on the front.<\/li><li>Play some music or a video, and slowly turn the main Volume (and headphone) knob up until it\u2019s at your desired listening level.<\/li><li>Launch your DAW, and select your interface as the primary playback and recording device.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"What-s-the-USB-hub-connection-for\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">What&#8217;s the USB hub connection for?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>One great thing about the Arturia MiniFuse is that it has a built-in USB hub located on the back of the unit. This is especially useful if you don\u2019t have any available USB ports and need to connect a device such as an iLok, eLicenser, or in some cases, MIDI controllers.
